I am not sure how that will work. The difference between W8 and W10 is minimal. Sunroof, connected apps and brake regeneration energy are the extra features in W10 when compared to W8. So what will W9 offer then in terms of value?

Congrats and thank you for the helpful details.

1.Could you please also add a few pictures of the interiors, especially the central console, dashboard and the instrument cluster?

2. Also any features missing in the ICE v/s W8 & W10?

3. Is the steering telescopic?

4. Lumbar support for the driver?

Thanks again.

P.S.: How difficult is it for M&M to get the specs updated online....

Tyretronics & Reverse camera. Both are disabled by default.

I am told that when/if I get the camera installed, the option is enabled in the ICE by updating it using their official software via laptop.

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

Does the New Age XUV come with conversation mirror now?

My 2016 W10 AT AWD does not have it.

I know it was present in the older version, but it was removed in the New Age version.

W10 doesn't have the conversation mirror to accommodate the sun roof controls. W6 & W8 still have this on the current versions also.

Thank you very much Sir for the quick & detailed reply! Awesome!
Thanks to your update on the purchase & feature details, if things go as planned, then coming week we will be bringing home a white W6.

Have a few more queries

1. Are these fabric seats removable? (for a wash).

2. The reverse camera (night vision as per Mahindra accessories), can be integrated in the dash screen? cool. The showroom guys here in Bangalore didn't think so.

3. What was the quoted price for the camera & front parking sensors you are waiting for? Also, the front parking sensors will be integrated with factory-fitted rear sensors?

4. Any thoughts on the cost involved in integrating the OEM tyretronics gadgetry into W6? Also for the "missing" power points (how costly can these be Mahindra)?

I will ask my service center about updating the software on my vehicle as well. I guess the option turns on the camera without engaging the reverse gear right?

They are not removable, hence a pain to clean. Need seat covers or else have to use steam cleaning and other methods if you dont want seat covers.

I too installed a reverse camera in the exact same spot where the original factory fitted cameras fitted. It cost me 5k rupees. I am not sure if it is an original mahindra approved or not but it gets the job done.A little grainy picture but better than some cameras that were fitted in the back bumper.

3. What was the quoted price for the camera & front parking sensors you are waiting for? Also, the front parking sensors will be integrated with factory-fitted rear sensors?
Camera was 5000/- inclusive of fitting charges. We were not interested in front sensors hence dint bother to ask.

Again i have no idea but it would be involve some amount of new wiring for the back two power outlets, again someone who has done both from Mahindra can better explain
I have a W6 AT but i should be able to answer your questions as well, thought not as good as Sir RavenAvi. My answers in BOLD.

My dad has a liking for some amount of chrome on his cars and since the W6 variant is devoid of chrome, he decide to chrome things up,albeit not too overboard i hope.
Mahindra was charging 9k just for the lower half which was too expensive. I asked about 4 famous auto accessories shops in Goa and none could acquire what we wanted. Hence i turned to a seller on amazon and installed the full window line chrome.
Sorry about the pics, its been raining cats and dogs for the past 5 days.

Finally some information here. So, W10 is possibly the 170BHP version? But Mahindra managed to keep the info under the wraps for a quite a while now.

This is interesting. The other day I enquired from a Mahindra showroom about the 170 and they said it would only be available in the petrol version and that too next year. If Mahindra is launching the 170 in diesel then why not make it uniform across all variants. Or maybe they want to have a specific variant which will compete with Jeep Compass. I am purely guessing maybe someone can throw a light on this.

Yes, during my discussion yesterday with sales rep at Sahyadri Motors Pune, he was also informing that W9 will be Petrol version and they are aiming at customers who are otherwise opting for Hyundai-Creta

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

I want to know till what date from the purchase of vehicle we do NOT require PUC?

In Pune RC is given after 3 months it seems, and all i have as proof is the SMS from "vahan" mentioning the Road Tax amount paid, is this valid proof (or) i'm missing any document? Apart from dealer invoice & insurance copy i don't have any document from Govt of Maharashtra mentioning the ownership of this vehicle? Any guidance is appreciated.

My understanding and i could be wrong that PUC is not needed for 1 yr from the date of purchase post which you need it done every 6 months.

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

Really need some advice guys With rumours of the 170 bhp XUV making a debut, would it be wise to opt for a W6 AT now? I'm at the verge of booking one.
