Time to replace the AMT and GB oil if not done already. These two will save the AMT GB. Not a difficult job, you need to find specific oil for AMT from TASS. I can post a picture if you need.

Thank you @Varun, I changed the GB oil at about 34K mark, when I got the clutch and pressure plate changed.

Please do send me the AMT oil link, so I can get it done, or only TASS can do it?

Re: Tata Nano AMT (Automatic) : Official Review

Hi BHPians,

Planning to change all 4 tyres on my 2012 nano LX. The front tyres are stock and completely worn out, while the rear has about 10% thread remaining. I plan to stick to the OEM recommended size for the tyres. Confused between the Bridgestone Sturdo and MRF ZEC (avoiding ceat because of poor experience on my Kwid and Nexon).

Quotes received are 11k for MRF and 12.5k for Bridgestone, both are inclusive of nitrogen filling, alignment and balancing with weights.

Any suggestions on which is the better tyre to go for. Plan to use this car for atleast 60k kms till the RC renewal is due.

Re: Tata Nano AMT (Automatic) : Official Review

After nearly 8 years of use my Nano XTA antenna's rubber seals gave way, monsoon water started leaking through the cabin light, checked with my FN accessories shop, he had a replacement aftermarket, changed for 350/-.

Will check after a car wash, if everything holds.

Re: Tata Nano AMT (Automatic) : Official Review

Folks

My 2017 Nano XTA is showing signs of AMT failure and starter motor failure.
The super short commutes and crawl traffic in which it spends its 100% life is probably to blame.

Symptoms:
1. Keeps cranking but doesn't start. Starts on its own after a few attempts. (battery is new)
2. Doesn't change gears when the stick is moved to D or R, or on its own goes into N (while moving). Shut down engine, restart, then everything works.

I'd like to be informed before I go to the TASS, else they'll keep the car for 10 days and then try a dozen things spending my money and the issue will still be unresolved.

Please advise.

cheers

Your Nano must be out of warranty? My advice:
Visit your FNG and do the following, before you try anything drastic.
Remove the battery terminals, and reinstall overnight.
Get your values checked on OBD reader, it's simple.
Check and replace AMT oil, let a good electrician check the starter motor.
BTW what is your ODO reading?

Re: Tata Nano AMT (Automatic) : Official Review

My Nano XTA's odometer display isnt working. I had shown it to TASS sometime back when the display was flickering intermittently, they had said that it cant be fixed and wil need the unit to be replaced and also the odo reading would be lost. So I had continued using with the same. Now the odo display is almost dead and I can barely see the odo reading after fiddling it with for few minutes.
Is there any solution to this? If I get a new odo reading , can I get the old odo reading on the new one ?

Car has currently run 27K and used for daily commute, has no issues otherwise.

Thank you for responding.
ODO is only 9k, but all of that is in crawling Bangalore traffic.

Am guessing changing the below should address the issue (overlaps with your list too)
- AMT DC Control Motor
- Clutch friction plates
- Gearbox Oil
- Starter Relay

Challenge is there're hardly any FNGs interested in working on Nano, too low cost to be worth their time/effort.

cheers

Show your speedometer to a known/popular meterwala he'll have a solution.

Note: my 2018 AMT, ODO console sometimes goes blank, I just press the mode and set stalks for a few seconds, and everything is fine.

Make it a habit of getting in 'N' even if you have to halt for a few seconds, my driver's do the same.

If you open the GB change both the clutch and pressure plate. I changed mine at 34k km. You can read about it some posts earlier.

If the SE in TASS is known to you, he'll help in finding a FNG for Nano, or put it out here and other social media, to find one.

All the best.
