Nothing else even comes close!
The only times the car sees 40+ KMPH is when I drive it.

And, Amen!

With alignment and balancing done in a proper tyre store - first time in its 6 years, the car does feel GOOD!

This is my HM's car - and she ain't willing to switch to anything 'modern' - there's no replacement for the form-factor, space and convenience, according to her.

And I gotta concur!
My 11000 ran XTAs both back tires outer treads got peeled off, assume it's because of the age. It's already 5years.
Changed all 4 tires to 145mm Kelly tires. So far all good. I think the best part with same dimension tires is you could do rotation of tires based on its wear. Many have recommended it's a safe option so went ahead and changed from stock 135mm front and 155mm rear config

When I read it the first time, the image that came to mind was that you drive the Nano at >40kmph. All other times, it goes out by itself but at <40kmph

The new tyre placebo, to some extent. Same as what happens when we have fresh oil in the engine. Do share how it feels after about 500 km at least.

You could post this in the Used Car price check thread. Will get better visibility there.

Here is my Nano AMT, at four years old

I must say, whoever has sat in it, always has come out impressed.

And I love it so much, I intend to keep it for as long as possible.

Hello Bipin,

My 2015 Tata Nano XTA is having odometer 30k and the tyres are due for replacement due to age factor. The tyre treads are good but it has developed small cracks so I am planning to change all tyres. How is the performance of your car after 1 year of changing tyres? Have you done any wheel rotation after that?

Hi Sandeep,
Our car runs very less and it's just 2000kms after changing the tires. So far all good. No rotations done till now. But alignment was corrected recently. The roads in our area are not in good shape so the alignment issues were expected

Re: Tata Nano AMT (Automatic) : Official Review

I have been thinking of writing about it for a long time, now finally sharing my thoughts.

Its about the bullying Nano drivers face on the roads.

My 2018 Nano AMT will be completing 40k on the odo in the coming weeks.

Otherwise, its used for local runs within Noida. But, ever since my Kushaq has gone for repairs (rats bit wiring, replacement harness came after a month, now work under progress), I switch between the Nano and Harrier for my daily drive from Greater Noida to Noida.

I love driving the Nano. Its peppy enough within city. On the expressway, it cruises comfortably at 70-80kph.

But, the problem is other drivers. For some reason, if a Nano overtakes them, it becomes an open challenge to their manhood.

I always drive in the slow lane. Will only venture into the fast lane to overtake, when there is no car behind me or is far.

Imagine a scenario. An Alto is moving at 60kph. I overtake at 70kph. 9 out of 10 times that idiot will speed up and try to remain ahead of me.

Another scenario. I am comfortably cruising at 80kph, I see a gap where I can easily switch lanes. The other driver, as soon as he realises a 'Nano' is going to overtake him, he will speed up, wont let me pass and switch lanes.

There would be unnecessary honking at situations, where one wouldn't honk, had it been any other car. I know, because if I drive the Harrier at the same speed, one would just silently overtake.

There would be 10 different such scenarios, I face everyday.

I had a Sumo Grande as my daily driver for four years. And I drive every car like that. I dont budge if there is no valid cause.

But, sometimes, this bullying does affect me. I do lose my temper.

And in all this, there is no fault of the poor Nano.

I guess, this comes as part of the ownership of the experience .
