The one thing that always is good about Mahindra is that they keep working at their models, and utilize the Make in India to the fullest. They are not shackled by any international approvals while making changes (unlike the Japs/Germans); and they seem to listen to feedback well. This new version of the Scorpio definitely builds on all the strong points (great driveability, on-road presence), and has added convenience and styling bits.
I am yet to see the vehicle in person - but is the fit and finish worse than the earlier models? Or is it that we in TBHP seem to have really keen eyes for these things? Interested to know this bit from people who have driven already.

The LTD sticker never looked better in any other car than on this Scorpio.

Thankfully, the Scorpio comes with auto-locking doors (they auto-lock at 20 km/h). Not only is this feature good for safety, but it also gives you one reason less to use the unfriendly lock / unlock switch.

What I do is, I use the remote to lock/unlock the doors. The remote is accessible as it is not incorporated in the key fob.
But auto locking of doors? I don't think the current ones auto-lock.

IMO, you are going to be proven horribly wrong.
Good to know that they have retained the 4x4 for the base model too. Other manufacturers need to realize that 4x4 is more of a necessity rather than a luxury.

1. Remove the black strip
2. Remove the pseudo grab handle
3. Bring back the tower reflectors or even better equipped with brake lights which move up with the brake pressure :D

I think
@arnabchak was suggesting a solution by adding a Live To DRIVE sticker in the rear :D. He has done a quick paste job on the image & indeed it does look good.
The suggestions you've made are certainly funky, but would need another "next generation" (perhaps 3 years down the line) to come into reality.

Replace the existing rear door with the old one. Retain the lights. There is a direct rear comparison in the first or second post. Plain jane looks butch. Just my opinion.

In the above blue shade which is really looking good, I think the rear would be better off with a complete blue scheme rather than the black strip in between. Can some PS guru try doing this and post it ?

I have long stopped buying auto magazines ever since I became a tbhpian clap:
Excellent review,well penned down and well complimented by crisp pictures. I am happy but at the same time disappointed as to why M & M didn't sort out the rear suspension issues. I have to agree the darker shades suites the scorpio rather than the white ones.
Like numerous T-bhians have mentioned, there are so many small things left out. And so many design flaws and fit issues. But to come to think of it weren't they testing this vehicle for donkey's years.
After so much of testing didn't they realise these things?

The Scorpio is not a million rupee vehicle anymore its 1.5 million rupees in the S10 avatar.
The 4x4 option should have started with the S6 variant rater then S4.
XUV makes more sense than the s8 and s10 variants.
Scorpio looks lovely in blue.
The variants other than s10 feel very basic in feature terms.
It is fun to drive in the city. But did not like it too much beyond 100 kmph.

My 2009 Scorpio is simply a breeze at least upto 110-120 kmpL at which I drive mostly on all the 4-6 Lane highways in India. On all other roads anything in the north of say 90-100 kmpL is simply unsafe in our country irrespective of the vehicle. I don’t see any reason why should the NG go any worse here.
Having said that, currently I can’t see a NG Scorpio or a Storme replacing my 2009 –Mhawk as an “upgrade”,
convincingly. In terms of 'looks' the new Scorpio is a put off where as the Storme under-equipped to my liking.
Again I wouldn’t call one vehicle better than the other at this stage. Prioritise
your requirements and then pick the one that ticks the boxes the most.
