Dear timuseravan,

Thanks a lot!

I know the 3M guys are normally booked. I had got my Jazz done from them 9~10 months back. I will definitely book in advance. I am assuming that after my full payment, the dealer will take 8~10 days to get it registered, etc. I can use that time. Let us see. The last time, I had got a booking for the next day!

Regards,

Girish Mahajan

Additional note as Edit:
Would any of the TBHPians be interested in coming to the dealer for the PDI and/or delivery and/or TD?
Feel free to PM me. Send me your whatsapp number and I will create a group. We can coordinate and meet up.

..seat covers

Further to this, I asked for costs. The reply on phone is as follows:
So, as of now, the 'more interesting' list is down to:
..reverse camera - utility - Rs 4500/-
..front proximity sensors - utility - Rs 4000/-
..tracker - utility - two options Rs 480/- and Rs 980/- ?? I hope I heard this right!

The 'can think of' list is:
..scuff plates - two options Rs 1500 and Rs 4500 (with 3 hours battery backup)

Very interesting indeed!

So, I expect a ~15000 billing for accesories at the dealer.

Dear GK, first of all congratulations for getting the VIN.

I have heard that Mahindra reverse camera is not got specially on a sunny day. It is pretty good during nights or low light. Have you read any reviews about the camera.

Request for members who've installed this camera to share their feedback for our benefit. Another question, what all things they open up to install this camera? Any rattles that you faced post installation?

Because of these two reasons I never went for rear camera though I know it is going to be super helpful.

Also, any of the members have gone for a reverse camera from an outside vendor? Please do share your experience.

Thanks & Regards

Dear vikasshu,

Interesting take!
I have yet to see my car - so it is some time before I install it.
I will see if I can get any reviews on the camera. Thanks for the heads-up.
Compared to an outside camera fitting - I see following advantages doing it with dealer - no warranty issues, no additional display!

I expect to be more 'knowledgeable' on 3 Sep. Let us see.

Mahajan Sir, many congratulations to you in advance and all the best for the "D" day. I hope you would be following the TBHP PDI checklist. Just in case you are scrambling in getting hold of it, I am pasting it below for your quick reference.

Team-BHP PDI Checklist.pdf

Edit: There is one more, which I actually used for the PDI of my car, attaching that below.

PDI.docx

Dear AutoIndian,

Thanks a ton!
I had already downloaded the first list. The second list (14 pages!!) is impressive. I will most probably take a print out of that and use it.
There was one more list somewhere. I created my own lists based on the two lists that I had. Your 14 page list is better than that. Let us see.

Just a thought - if you are free - then you are welcome. You can check out your TUV's older brother!

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

Dear Friends,

I am sorry - I could not find the information I am looking for. When I meet the dealer on Sunday - I will ask.
However, off hand - can someone tell me what the service schedule is? Thanking you in advance.

Can the car do a Pune Kolhapur Pune trip in the first month of ownership?

At least for my 2010 mHawk, it was every 5000 kms; don't know if they have changed it for the newer version or not. The service schedule is given in the owner's manual here:

Yes, the car can do a Pune Kolhapur Pune trip in the first month of ownership. Just follow the running in instructions, if any, given in the owner's manual.

Cheers,
Vikram

Congratulations GK.

Is the current generation AT in Scorpio same as in XUV500 AT?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Vikram,
This is my first diesel and first SUV. In all my earlier cars, the first service was at one month, then three months, then six months and so on. Is there some 'escalating' sequence valid for Scorpio too? I have not yet seen the manual - I am just being lazy and asking you !!

Dear vvrchandra,
I am not sure, but as far as I know, the AT in latest Scorpio is same as the AT in the XUV. There may be a difference in tuning due to difference in power and torque. Let me see if I can find that during my visit to the dealer.

They are different. Scorpio AT is sourced from DSI, Austarlia while the XUV has the 6 speed AT manufactured by Aisin - used in Ssangyong Tivoli

Dear Karthik Chandra,

The Scorpio is now with the Aisin box. I do not know since when. I read it somewhere. Let me see if I can find it again!

Sorry mods for this addition to my earlier comment.

Dear Vikram,

I downloaded the manual. It is for manual transmission only. I think I will search for the automatic one.
Just for your information.... Thanks are still due to you.
