If cleaning it from the outside is not helping, it has likely fogged up from the inside. You can get it checked by a FNG and ask them to sort it out. However, I'm unsure if it's possible since the OEM unit is mounted within the trunk door, and accessing it may require removing the panels.

Hi Jaspal, my 2014 i20 (1st gen FL) has now completed 165k km and need another set of clutch soon. Can you please tell me which all parts were replaced for your clutch overhaul? Also did you change the pressure plate too?

Hi,

For a complete clutch overhaul, you'll need a clutch plate, a pressure plate & a release bearing. Also, it's a good time to replace the gear oil (if it's not been replaced recently).

P.S. - while the bell housing is removed from the car, get the flywheel visually checked and see if there are any hotspots.

I left my car for service at ASS and when I enquired regarding this problem, the advisor mentioned that there is an issue with the lens and it cost INR 35,000 + labor to replace the camera.

I feel 35K for a camera is too high a price.

35k for a basic camera setup is over the top for an 8-year-old car. My suggestion however remains the same. If the FNG can't sort it out, you could swap the camera for a different one (anything local perhaps?)

P.S: Hyundai's policy with parts is generally to swap out the entire thing and replace it with a new one. There is generally no scope for "repairs" per se.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

I just got an update for my 2016 Elite i20 and the MID now shows a service interval/reminder! I had given the car for the regular service and it came back with this. I'm not sure if I'm the first or the last one here to get this, but I'm happy to see that Hyundai is putting in small efforts to improve the experience for even an 8-year-old car and customer

Hyundai i20: Headlamps fogging up

Noticed fogging up of both the headlamps in the new i20 which is less than a year old. The car, as said is less than a year old, driven very less, has a closed parking and the bulbs etc have never been replaced. The headlamp is halogen type. This is actually the first time I noticed this on the day of second service at Republic Hyundai, Ranchi service center. I have asked the SA to raise a warranty claim but he says that its normal. What members think of it?

This is definitely not normal.
Our 2017 i20 doesn't have this problem and this is a car that is driven daily come rain or shine.
SAs will do anything to avoid a FOC replacement.

Thank you. Neither did I notice it before today.

Thanks. But the car was neither washed nor driven in wet weather. I noticed this issue before the car was washed.

I’ve gotten this remark posted in their Service record so that if required, we can press for warranty replacement in due time if the issue persists.

Thanks.

The extract from the manual seems to be Hyundai's way out when a warranty claim is raised. It is a bunch of meaningless statements. Water should not get into the headlights unless there is a crack or a breach of some sort.
Driving with the headlights on is not going to sort this out. I had condensation in my Swift headlight and a couple of hours of driving with the lights on didn't help. I use 90/100W bulbs which get really hot but it still took months to finally dry out.

I have never had this problem with any of my cars ever. This includes my 22 year old Zen. Also if you see, the condensation is actually not in the compartment where the headlamp reflector or bulb is. It’s actually under it, which is a separate complement if you can call that.
When I saw it, I showed it to the SA. He turned on the headlamp for a while but it did not clear off.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

If there is a crack, condensation will not go away and the last line in the manual makes sense in this situation.

But looking at your pictures, just drive the car with halogens on and it will go away.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

Hi,
Anyone have an issue with the key less entry on the driver's door handle not working?
Asta, CRDI, 2015.

The sensor works and the mirrors respond to the key fob being there, just the keyless button doesn't unlock the door when pressed?
Any fixes, or procedure to repair since the sensors etc, work?

thanks in advance.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20 : Official Review

Hi all.

I gave my elite i20 for servicing. The service advisor informed that there is a slight bend in one of the alloy wheels (Pic attached).

How serious is this bend? What are the risks due to this?

Thanks in advance.
Palani.
