Ok people, I need help. My cousin has an Elite i20 , 2016 Sportz model. Since yesterday, he is unable to lock or unlock car using the remote. The battery is fine. The LED also flashes on the key fob but there is no response by the car. What could be the issue? Fuse is also ok. Hyundai service people are clueless. :Frustrati

I was having a similar issue, LED flashing on the fob but no response by the car. Got the key fob battery replaced for ₹236 from Hyundai and voila. So, when battery is breathing its last ( below10%), all it's left capable of is just flashing the tiny LED on the fob. Get the battery replaced, its a 5min job.

Try replacing the key battery. It costs just Rs.80 on Amazon for a set of 2. Open the key and insert the battery. It will be alright I guess

Hi guys!

I've booked an i20 Magna CVT.
It comes with a central locking system which can be opened by inserting the key in the door. However, it doesn't come with a remote.
Is there any OEM or other good branded option to install it as an add-on?
Inserting the key every time one needs to enter the car is very irritating.
Please help!

My cousin bought a Hyundai I20 Asta at Vizag on 2nd Jan, 2019. The dealer was Lakshmi Hyundai. Earlier we visited Mango Hyundai, NEXA, Maruti showrooms for test drive and comparing prices.

On-road price for I20 Asta came about 7.9L, which is a great deal I believe. There were no discounts on Baleno and new Swift and ran into 9L on-road prices for top end variants. However, Ignis had a few discounts going, but the interior and build quality was no match to the I20. All Suzuki cars (Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno) felt really cheap with plastiky low quality interiors.

My Family has 4 Suzuki cars and this is the first Hyundai. Was pleasantly surprised to see the nice quality plastics and level of quality Hyundai maintains in its cars. Drove about 100KMS for 3 days and I20 showed no signs of a rattle, :thumbs up Whereas my swift (bought in 2017) rattlled from day-1 :Frustrati

This is what I was talking about. Massive discounts in I20, helped it race-up to 3rd place. Good marketing strategy by Hyundai!

Can the dealer install 'Autocop' kind of stuff and deliver? Try to negotiate for getting the OEM remote key installed as 'accessary'.

I believe it was because of Maruti's week long factory shutdown rather than Hyundai's marketing.

I am surprised that Omni sales figures are higher than Innova, Tiago, etc. Not sure if the numbers are legit. I think we should take these numbers with a pinch of salt.

The Hyundai Elite i20 seems to have undergone a variant rejig. Now CVT looks to be available for the top variant as well.

I'm sorry if it's off-topic, but was wondering if the i20 Elite, Asta(O) 1.4 CRDi has a water-cooled turbocharger? Scarce turbocharged vehicles on the Indian scene have one (but for the 2016+ Innova) hence am in doubt.

Hello,

As far as I know these are not water cooled. They are oil cooled turbos. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards,
Dhananjay

Guys I have a complaint in otherwise a fantastic package. I feel that the lower back support on the front seats of elite i20 is not comfortable. I am having a lot of back pain due to this on longer drives. I have tried cushions, different driving postures, seat supports, change in design of seat covers. But all in vain,if any one else had faced the same issue or had done something about it. Suggestions are welcome.

1) Set driver's seat to the highest position
2) Remove seat covers.
3) Adjust the recliner so that the back rest is not too reclined. Let the angle be as close to 90 degrees as possible, but it should not be uncomfortable either.

Poorly fit seat covers can mess up OEM seat comfort. Use the car without seat covers for a few thousand kms and see how it goes.

I own i20 elite and I don't face this problem in i20 but in my previous car, swift I faced this issue especially after 6 years of so , may be the seat shape got changed over the period by usage. I figured out that keeping roll of Chaddar / bedseat at the back helped me. you may want to try that.
