Excellent review

Is it just me who thinks the center console looks very cheesy more like an after market fitment. How can you have differently designed (or rather shaped) air ducts in the same car!!!

Guess this is again reworked to appeal more towards the better half. Don't think it'll be owned as the only car in the family especially if

but you'll need to carefully plan overtaking moves on fast highway vehicles (if at all, you manage to overtake them).

:thumbs up It looks even more tacky due to the shiny finish. Also,it would have looked better had they gone with the all black interiors like the export ones which look more in sync although still cheap.

Great review as usual.

I just hope it's not a bit too little too late. Again when you factor in the new kid in town the Ecosport, the Micra does lose out in some areas.

I also wonder about resale values of the old Micra's, since the cut price version the Active is now the same as the old one. If resale does take a hit, hasn't Nissan thrown its early adopters under the proverbial bus.

Correct. Old Micra rebadged and some styling tweaks is now called the Micra Active. Start from 3.5L ex-Delhi and goes up to 4.71L ex-Delhi.

Here is a pic of Micra Active:-

Nissan Micra Facelift / Xtronic CVT : Official Review-image.jpg

Nissan Micra Active Prices (Ex-Showroom Delhi)

Micra Active XE – Rs. 3.50 lakhs
Micra Active XL – Rs. 4.02 lakhs
Micra Active XV – Rs. 4.40 lakhs
Micra Active XV Safety – 4.71 lakhs

Merely some cosmetic tweaks have been made to the earlier Micra and new shades have been added and viola! You've got the Micra Active! :D Micra Active looks like the previous Micra frowning as it has been backstabbed by it's own facelift! stupid: It will be interesting to see how Nissan positions Datsun without overlapping with Micra Active.

Wonderful review. Thanks for that!
My opinion -
1. A usual "facelift" which will also leave existing owners with the happy feeling of "ok our version looks better compared to this!"

2. I feel the LED brake lamps (not the HMST) look a bit gaudy & afterthought in finish. Like the wannabe cabbies adding white DRL strips around the head lamps of their indicas. Of course the photo may not be giving me the real picture.

3. Could they not do anything about the side AC vents too? Or the budget ran out? I'd rather have left the symmetry intact in that case.

4. A wonderful alloy design. (Don't know if it already existed. My bad if they are already used in original Micra.)

Micra range starts from 3.5 L to all the way up to 7.14 L. Wow :)

Is Micra the only car in the world which has base model costing less than half for the same cars top model? I guess yes.

I wish they had included the Nissan Sunny meters in the top end Micra at least. I used to hate the current meters in the Micra and that unfortunately seems to have been left intact in the face lift also.

Nissan Micra at 3,56 in kerala and Alto K10 vxi at 3,53?
what do I miss if I go for Micra Active than a K10? tacho (can be managed using Scangauge) and fog lamps?... and I get a bigger engine and better space..
There is some discount on K10 (nearly 40K), but I think Micra is one step higher than Alto

Confused now....

CVT is just perfect for the city! What is the ARAI FE claim? It would be good to add. (I tried but I could not find it on the review).
I heard CVT provides more FE than manual as per the claim. I am very sure with the pricing introduced (7.2/7.3L OTR BLR) it would make good sales.

There are no ARAI figures yet, probably because there was nothing to homologate as far as the basics are concerned (same petrol engine). The CVT is reported to return 1kmpl more than the MT - and hopefully this is just the start of a sustained effort on fuel efficiency in this car.

It still has to go through Homologation since the gearbox is changed.

ARAI numbers from the brochure:

Micra Active - 19.49Kmpl
New Micra Petrol - 18.44Kmpl
New Micra CVT - 19.34Kmpl

Thank you sooo much DerAlte for the review. This one's a much awaited one. This is a important revision for the cute Micra. A question: How is the HU quality? Is it nice or what? Also, is the LED bulb compatible on the older car?

Thanks once again for the BHP review.

Cheers,

Achyuth

Yuck! What an eyesore!
The old one looked loads better than this!!

I like the new look of the Micra - note that I was ok with its previous look also. It is nice to see companies taking the AT segment seriously and launching models. I think AT is going to be the future and I see more and more being a part of this clan and discarding the low mileage issue. Just wanted to get an approximation as to what its OTR cost would be in Mumbai?

The interior looks better with that sprinkling of black on the center console compared to the old one. Wish it had more black though.

And addition of ABS on the Diesel is a big plus.
