Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I use the Ford "Sync" to connect to my mobile . But it behaves weirdly at times. The Ford "Sync" refuses to sync at all. I have tried the following i.e.
Turn your device's Bluetooth off and on, then connect your device to SYNC via Bluetooth from the vehicle's SYNC menu.
Delete your device from SYNC, then delete SYNC from your device's Bluetooth menu. You can then try pairing your phone with SYNC again.
Try restarting, resetting, or removing your cell phone's battery.

But no success. Appreciate any inputs regarding the same.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

My 8 year old Ecosport Diesel has run approx. 1.1 Lacs kms. Everything is going good till date but recently i have observed Fuel Efficiency has reduced drastically. Earlier i used to get 14-15 kmpl in bumper to bumper Kolkata Traffic with AC on. Now i am getting hardly 11-12 kmpl under similar conditions. Is it a cause of concern or it's common considering the age and odometer reading?

The model which I am referring is Titanium Sports.
What is the recommended power rating on your Dashcam? Commonly, fuse rated between 10-15A are recommended for connections.

I guess, IVRM in Ecosport is connected to Fuse F09 which is 5A. You can check (if you have access to fuse box).

Also, if you are looking to use parking mode, you will need VCC fuse - which has power flowing through even when car ignition is off. I have Fuse number-wise A rating for Ecosport 2013-17, incase you need it.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I'm back with more questions for my Ecosport (Petrol Automatic - Feb 2020)
1. What is the right set of bulbs for the front headlights? I have come across both H4 and H7. Also, I'm looking to replace both the headlights as well as High beam bulbs. Which ones are good? I've read that Ecosport's headlights casing is not conducive to LEDs which can get really hot
2. My tires have run 36K. I'll be looking to replace them in 1-2 months. For 80% city and rest on highways, which tire is recommended?

Thanks!

Wheel Well Cladding: And how about the Wheel Well cladding, is there another material that can be used. Btw - the one which have did 1,00,000 KM but looks like now its time for replacement.

Steering Wheel Cover Steering wheel cover recently is showing some wear and tear, looks more like cockroach bites for me, has anyone done any thing on top the steering that doesnt destroy the look and feel and grip?

H4 and H7 bulbs aren't interchangeable. H4 has a double filament for both low and high beams, while H7 uses a single filament, requiring two separate bulbs for each beam. If you're switching to LEDs or any non-standard bulbs, it's crucial to align the light throw angle with the reflector curvature.

I always felt right lamp in my car to be comparatively weaker and have replaced bulbs every 2-3yrs to maintain brightness. Recently, realized that there is a dust layer coating the reflector of right headlight, which could explain weaker brightness. Not really sure how it has been accumulating only on one side. Now and in past, I've always been careful when fixing the Rubber cover over headlamp bulb.

I've tried DIY cleaning using a vacuum with a thin pipe extension and also an air blower. But neither gave desired results for the lack of thoroughness and patience. If anyone has a better DIY solution, I'd appreciate it!

Wheel Well Cladding

Steering Wheel Cover
I got my heat insulator replaced some time back. Mine was also torn after the long usage and I got it replaced. One can also drive without it but the thing is, the insulator also helps in sound dampening somewhat.

Wheel cladding can be replaced as well if you want but if it is not that bad, then clipping them should help.

I have got a steering wheel cover over the original leather one. It has fit in nicely and the steering feel is good as well. You can always check.

You can also check the details here if you want:

Thanks for this Abhi.

Wheel cladding has torn out and I am thinking of moving to some other material like plastic - or else stick to the same material. My LHS may hold with new clips but RHS may not.

How much are the original steering wheel covers?

I see "Cowl top vent & top" is this the same piece that is in between the windshield & bonnet? I see a lot of rubber parts coming of this place, and doesnt look neat there. Planning to replace mine as well

The steering came with factory fitted leather wrapping and I just put on a cover to protect the original one after some rough edges showed up.

Yes, the Cowl top is indeed the thing between the windshield and the bonnet. The rubber becomes hard after a certain point of time and comes off in broken pieces. It’s better to replace the whole thing, gets back the original look as well.

Yes this was there in mine as well, now it has started showing its sign of age. I saw yours was wrapped with another cover. I thought that was Ford OEM. My bad.

Could you guide me to the one you use?

Yes - my TurtleWax trim restorer has been doing duty to maintain its shape - but this now far beyond repair - especially the areas near the windshied. Do share a pic next time when you are close to the car. I actually do not remember how it looked before

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

A dear friend has a 2016 Ecosport Diesel.
In May-June oil was mixing with water due to a problem with oil cooler and it was changed. The problem of oil and water mixing was solved. Also the coolant bottle was changed and radiator was cleaned.

But since then there is a problem with the AC of the car. It is not throwing chilled air as it used to(checked with temperature meter, going minimum till 13 degrees celcius). Gas has been checked multiple times, it is full. The compressor is generating optimum high and low pressure. The radiator fan is working at full speed.

Please suggest what could be the issue. The car is serviced and repaired by a FNG.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

The cooling coil and condenser must have been clogged. Get it checked. Also, get the refrigerant replaced if possible.

Ecostvm (Ecosport owners club based in Trivandrum, Kerala), which I am proudly part of, recently organized a meetup including 393 Ecosports. This event found a spot in India Book of Records as the "Largest Single Segment Car Meetup".

Hello.
I have a 2018 Ecosport Titanium, ran over 200,000 km now.
I also have the same issue of dust inside the right headlamp, noticed it while getting the headlamp mounts repaired which broke out of the blue, no impact.
I have a guy here in my hometown who could open and clean the headlamps for a very reasonable price. I'm however, sceptical about the way they'd be sealed later.
Could you find any effective diy method??
