Also someone has been able to scratch the hood leaving a big line revealing the primer layer.

...

Suggest you write to Ford India highlighting this issue. From my experience they are very prompt in responding to customer feedback and resolving any issue. It could be due to external forces but worth a try.

Does Ford India offer a 6th-year warranty? If yes, what is the cost? And why are they not indicating it in the dealer's quote for a new Ecosport?

Hi Vnabhi,

The website quotes 28089 for extending warranty till the 6th year/ 100000 kms and 33089 for the same term with 150000 kms for the Diesel MT if purchased under 90 days of ownership of the car. I've also not been provided a quote by the dealer at the time of purchase for 6 year term but when I've checked with the service center ( Vibrant Ford Balanagar) I remember the SA providing quotes for 6 years as well. Also, the service center provided a lower pricing than what's on the website. Mine is a petrol AT and the website shows 13999 for 5 years/ 100000 kms whereas I was provided the same at 12433. I went ahead and took it.

I'd suggest you check with the service center rather than the dealer if you can get a better deal.

Prospective buyers, here's some info for you.

IMPENDING PRICE INCREASE ACROSS FORD RANGE.

I paid Rs 16999 for EW for 4th and 5th year at the time of delivery. I'll find out about 6th year from the dealer when i visit them next week for my Fastag and number plates.

You will get sixth year warranty easy, even my almost six year old car was offered a sixth year warranty after inspection for around ₹ 24,000. This, despite the fact that I had my extended warranty expired after four years since Ford didn’t offer EW beyond four years previously.

The car when in 4th or 5th gear in around 80-100 kmph stats losing power when the ac compressor kicks in. The engine starts to jerk and there are vibrations. Feels the similar way as if you are in second gear at 10kmph.

What is this all about the jerk issue in BS6 diesel Ecosport? Anybody else facing this issue?

Any idea if this is applicable on a vehicle that is booked already? I was supposed to get mine delivered on 28th March. But, it has been pushed to April 10th. Sales team is not answering my question if my invoice will change. Now, I have a strong suspicion that they've pushed all the deliveries to next month just to extort more money.

Write a mail to Ford customer care to get proper clarification regarding the same. Email: custmail@ford.com

Haven't faced any such issue, whether in second or higher gears. Have done a few highway drives where AC was on full time - didn't experience any lack of power. Other users can pitch in with their experience.

I didn't feel any sort of jerk, But getting out of juice at 150kmph at 5th gear. Car doesn't want to get past 150, Is there any speed limiter set on BS6 cars?

There is no limiter. On good highways I personally think speeds between 100 and 120 are safer to cruise. Stay safe.

I reported this issue to FASS, they said they have taken care of this issue by some cleaning and updating. Post that, I have driven for about 100 KMs and haven't faced this issue yet. Not sure if it is completely solved. If the clogged DPF is causing this, then with more city/slow speed driving, it might resurface.

For the old EcoSport, new Figo, Aspire and Freestyle, here's a post on Facebook who has installed it in his car. It's Idumbakumar who did this mod in his pre facelift EcoSport.

Hope this might help all those who are on the fence for cruise control in the mentioned models.

Could you give some more details on what was causing the issue exactly and what did the ASS do in order to resolve it? Did the service center provide any clarity on this ? If the cause/genesis of the issue is known, it would be more helpful for all users of the car.
