2500 rpm for 10-15 minutes, i believe? Or kms?

It should be >2000 rpm and 20+ mins. Might vary from model to model, so better to check your manual.

Quality issues with Ecosport 2021 interiors

I found this video on Facebook by Narendar Rohilla in Ecosport owners group. Can other ecosport owners share your opinion on this? Is this new in 2021 or is it expected and not a big deal?

Doesn't look like a quality issue. More like a cost cutting measure.

This clearly is cost cutting, not quality issue. There was a time when Ecosport interior build was best in class with thick doorpads etc. But it didn't help its sales because consumers were happy with wafer thin Brezza door pads. Result is that Ford had to resort to the same I guess to keep margins intact.

It's sad to see this as I am proud of the quality of these things in my first gen Ecosport.

If we can take a pause on my poor choice of words, i'm trying to point out that its cheap material of poor quality and not expected from Ford.

It might be cost cutting or whatever but end product is not at expected quality levels of Ford.

Re: Quality issues with Ecosport 2021 interiors

It must be the new "premium" soft touch, non scratching door trim. A lot of high end cars stay away from hard plastic in the interiors, specially the touch points. It looks like Ford is catching up to this trend and offering this feature in the new Ecosport.

-P.S. Not trying to offend anyone, it is a light hearted rant at manufacturers diluting the USP of there popular vehicles with time.

Re: Quality issues with Ecosport 2021 interiors

Recently went for a test drive of the same and the first thing that my sister noticed was the same. Don't know if it is soft touch or not but definitely felt cheap. At least safety isn't compromised, because it is Ford. We are about to get Titanium Diesel MT.

Will do, thanks. So far the car has crunched less than 200 kms, and i am not revving it beyond 2000 rpm, except for very short bursts needed for overtaking.

Not sure if running in for 1000 kms makes sense with modern engines even today. And yes, i've seen that thread on how to run in your new car on this forum. But that is more than 15 years old.

As a basic thumb rule, I took it easy for the first 1000 kms, that is to say, did not rev it beyond 2200 RPM. This was irrespective of the fact that the manual is silent on rev limits. It's just something I personally follow.

Makes sense, thank you. I remember following that on my Fiesta way back in 2007. But it took me 2.5 months to cross 1000 kms back then---owing to work commitments!

i hope to much more miles on the Ecosport in the coming weeks. I'm taking care to vary the engine RPM regularly. Else there is a tendency to drive in 3rd gear at around 1500 to 1700 rpm in city traffic.

Hello Everyone
One of my very close friend bought an Ecosport Titanium+ AT. He wants to install the rear wheel cover. He lives in west Delhi. Can somebody suggest any good shop in west Delhi where he can buy rear wheel cover and get it installed? Any ball park number about the cost of the cover? Thanks in advance for all your help members.

If you buy through Ford, it will cost around ~12K, but of good quality and will last long.
I have heard of cheaper ones in outside market, but don't know how it will be.

As confirmed by the dealer when I had got my Ecosport - The cover is not manufactured by Ford. The dealer also purchases it from its from outside(local vendor). So there were 2 - 3 options provided my dealer, range starting from 6k to 10k.

I am getting between 15 and 16 Kmpl tank full to tank full. My drives are 80 percent on the highway and 20 percent in the city. Attached my Drivvo report for cost per km.
