Ideally speaking, none. They seem more aesthetic than functional. The manual says a maximum of 20kgs distributed evenly.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Is it a good idea to buy a 2013 model with 1.8 lakh km for Rs 3.4 lakh? Full service history with Ford available.

Can you please tell if it is screwed to roof rails or pasted? This will give a further idea of its strength.

I was thinking of keep the load on roof rails and using the cross bars only to tie up the bags so that they do not fall.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

The rubber at the edges of the front windshield has started melting and has left some sticky residue on the paint. I don't know how and why it's happening as the car is always under cover and parked in garage when not in use and neither do we use rough cleaning materials. Also the suspension particularly the rear ones were making a squishy sound over speed humps during a recent trip, our car is a tdci 7 years old and has done barely 24k Kms. Is it time to change the suspension?

I am attaching the images of the melting rubber:

Is it normal to have water leakage from both end of exhaust?

It's not normal unless your exhaust has a leak on the other side and that is dripping onto the suspension arm.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I plan to buy a second hand ES Titanium+ Petrol Automatic. I'm getting an option from spinny.com at a cost of 9.19L. The price is fixed and bargain is not possible.

The details of the car are:
1. Registration: Oct 2018
2. Insurance : Valid till Aug 2021.
3. KMs done: 14000
4. Little bit of scratches here and there but nothing major.

They are offering 1 year warranty on the car.

Is this the right price of the car?

I got it checked with the PSP service center in Hosur road. There was a small hole in the backside of exhaust and it leaks the water and carbon. SA showed the carbon by wiping the strain on the suspension arm. No fix was done and I will get it checked during next service.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Took delivery of my Ford Ecosport Titanium S TDCI in Bangalore this aftenoon. Smooth showroom experience other than some last minute complications with the loan procedure. Initial drive impressions are not really available since I have not even got the temporary registration number, it being an RTO holiday today. Could not drive it around too much. Expecting the number to come by Monday and number plates within a day or two of that.

Just drove from showroom till home , around 4 kilometers. As expected, fairly smooth and refined driving experience. As usual, the car felt like a solidly built vehicle, good size for traffic as well. Will need to get used to the heavier feel of the diesel engine, having been used to petrols all these years. The low end torque was very enjoyable though! Looking forward to clocking lots of kilometres on the beast

Hearty congratulations on your wonderful car! Even after being 7 years old this car is still a really competent one. The Lightning Blue with the darkened out bits in the S variant particularly look smashing.

Enjoy your beast to the fullest, happy mile-munching.

Congratulations again, I am so glad that you have gotten over with your initial reservations about the car and boy o boy, you have done that how !! The top end S trim looks smashing to say the least. Wishing you miles and miles of happiness.

Incidentally, just thought of sharing a random snap here in this thread that I got to click yesterday while returning back from work.

Congratulations. What a wonderful looking car!

I am also planning to buy Ecosport next month. I am hoping that next month there will be some discounts due to the year-end. I understand the depreciation hit while buying during year-end. However, if the discount is less then, I will buy it next year.

Please let me know the following details it will be helpful for a wider audience:
  1. From which showroom you have bought the car?
  2. Also, what was the on-road price, and please provide the price breakup?
  3. Did you get any discounts or free accessories?
  4. Did you exchange your car?
  5. Finally, which Bangalore Ford showroom and service center is good?
I need members' help here. I am planning to buy Ecosport Diesel S (top end) in Bangalore. The Colour will be black. Today I have made a phone call to Cauvery and PPS Ford and they quoted 14.63L and 14.89L respectively. I find PPS Ford is a bit costly, but I assume the price might also include some accessories. I have asked for a price break up, but I have not received it yet.

I will be exchanging my Baleno petrol Alpha MT (Oct 2017) which is 3 yrs old and done 37.5K Kms. No accident damage and no issues. I have paid 9.2L and what is the resale value I can expect?

The reason for selling my Baleno is quite long:
  1. It is unsafe and thin metal build. Like most Baleno cars on the road, mine is also started to get dents in those wafer-thin doors despite parking carefully. I am deeply regretting the purchase. This is my first car and hence bought it without a test drive. I was not that confident to do a test drive at that time.
  2. Steering is lifeless and does not return properly which is incredibly annoying.
  3. Around corners, it is not good. It is not confidence-inspiring to go around corners quickly.
  4. Suzuki 1.2 NA engine is over-rated and it is very weak when loaded. It is frustrating to drive on the highways when it is fully loaded.

To get the best resale value for your Baleno, you should consider selling it to a direct buyer through OLX/Quikr or Team-BHP classifieds. You will not get a good deal by selling it to a dealer (or even services like Cars24) or exchanging it for a new car.

As far as I know these dealers (Cauvers, PPS, JSP) will provide the best discounts only during the December month. So you should consider selling your Baleno on your own and then pitch these dealers against each other to get the best deal for your new car purchase before the end of Dec.
