I get around 13-14kmpl max in 100% city conditions with 100% AC. My uncle also drives one and he gets max of 12. Havent taken to the highways yet. I have clocked around 3600kms. I hope it will improve.

Congrats on your car. Well, I had a terrible experience with MRF. The sidewall is crap so make sure you are careful. Can expect road noise also.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Guys,
1. What air pressure do you maintain on the ES? (2 occupants max in my car)
2. How often do you check the tyre pressure ? I generally do it once a month.

Sorry for going OT but dont know where else to ask this question.
Bought a few stuff for my Ecosport from aliexpress.com and its been more than 20 days but still not able to locate the whereabouts of my items. I guess many in this thread have bought accessories from aliexpress.com, so how much time did it actually take for the items to be delivered?? Mine is still lying somewhere in china.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

My Friend wanted to book a Eco Sport Petrol.
The Showroom in Bangalore told us that the 1.6 Petrol has been stopped due to demand?

We were told to choose between the 1L Turbo or the Diesel?

Can someone please confirm this?

I got another tankful a few days back, drove around for 170 kms and again filled it up to the brim. Did the math only to find out that my FE is 12.5 km/l. It was again 70% in city with AC always on. Have run only 2300 kms so far. Got to check with the dealer when I go in for the first service.
Your fuel economy appears to be bad, make sure you mention this to the service manager.
He can tweek the engine injector values via the diagnostics

I am getting between 14 to 16kmpl in city depending on traffic.

Highway.16 to 19kmpl best being at 2000rpm.
All values are with AC on all the time.

Attaching a picture of the diagnostic tool taken during my 10000km service

You will surely get that numbers on highway may be even more with your in city FE figures

There is only 1.5 in petrol.
Hyderabad dealers are taking bookings for the 1.5 petrol variant.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

The Euro Spec model of the EcoSport is previewed by 'What Car?' for its reader test team!
Its eyeing for the rather odd looking Juke in UK.
Will be in showrooms around March 2014!
Found so many of the reader reviewers disliking the spare mounted wheel strange in my humble opinion!
Thought it would be of interest to my fellow forum members.

Loved the alloy color though

There are a few here who have taken deliveries to of 1.5P. I am also keen on the 1.5P ecosport but Mumbai dealers also not taking bookings; looks like Ford prefers to push Ecoboost or a1.5D engine models, higher margins??

Hello Fellow BHPians

FE update : done 2600kms. As per the 3rd tankful figures FE given by my ES is 21.25 kmpl.
I'm extremely happy.
Driving is on a not so chaotic route of Faridabad-Noida and with no AC used at all,due to excellent weather.

12 km/l is bang in the petrol territory esp the maruti cars like Wagon R or the old Esteem that i had. So yes, unless you are constantly doing 1st or 2nd gear, i would have expected you to get in the range of 14-15kmpl in the city. BTW, the MID is pretty accurate since i've cross checked the MID FE with figures i get from the tankful method.

On highways, my average FE on the MID has risen as high as 18.6kmpl. So am sure the true FE at that point must be higher than 18kmpl for the average to be 18.6kmpl.

If you are sure it isnt the route you are taking to work or your driving style, than for the first service, i suggest you get a voluntary oil change done. Ecosport_rules said the paid service at 10k kms cost him only Rs.3100! So you shouldn't be too worried about how much it will cost you.

Hi Niks
First clarification is that mine is a diesel darling and not a petrol one. Was not very clear from my earlier post.
Well I do not push the car to limits and have sober driving habits - this is what Faridabad-Noida route enforces upon me - no choice.
Well I find that this car cannot take a harsh pedal at 1st and 2nd gear.

Overall, this is how I drive:
1st Gear: Just used to make the car move. The car shows a lot of arrogance(in form of engine noise and reaching a speed limit). It just reaches 15 kmph at this gear ratio.
2nd gear : I just let it reach 25-30 kmph. Again lot of reluctance shown by car beyond these speeds.
3rd dear : Max 40-45kmpl. But yes the RPM touches 1300 and I definitely get a punch at these RPM levels.
4th Gear : I shoot up till 60-70 kmph with a definite rush from the Turbocharger.
Beyond 60-70kmph I shift to 5th gear and go up max to 90kmph.
I do not drive beyond 90kmph, though I have tested it till max 110 kmph.

Though in early morning, I find the car little noisy - may be due to winters. But even I miss the punch of Swift in Ecosport, I love this car.

Could you provide me with the default injector values, just in case the service manager isn't aware of it.

The actual delivery period will be less than the ones quoted from now on. Ford has lost its reputation due to poor delivery management. The dealers are quoting at least 1-2 months more so that the customers dont have to experience the frustration.

Visibility is an issue with Ecosport and it does not inspire confidence in the driver.

Is that applicable for previous bookings too? Do we start bothering the dealers with ford booking number!
