Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

One word of advice to all Ecosport owners and people taking vehicles soon:

The Piano black portion next to gear level is prone to scratches. Noticed this on the TD vehicle and another vehicle that was delivered and used for couple of weeks. This would really stand out. So be careful with this.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I have seen one Ecosport until now. I see so many Amazes. Whats wrong with Ford? I am not sure if they are really delivering at all. Having a backlog is fine if the bookings are more in number. But are they delivering any at all?

Deliveries in Blore happening at a slow pace AFAIK. My sister was trying to spot for weeks now. Yesterday, she happened to see one delivered to someone staying in her apartment complex. It was a Sea Grey Ecoboost Ecosport.

Updates from my dealer:
Allotment for this month will commence from August 5th. So next week I should be getting my approximate delivery date.

May not be a dealer issue per se. In my view of things, the dealer is a puppet to some extent, and we are puppets of dealers. Glad to know 1.5 is in existence, but it may not be an AT.

Some Team-BHPians have misunderstood my frustrations on Ford as issues with manufacturing. That's one thing, but its mostly with the uncertainty of things that put me off. Not even once the dealer was able to confirm its existence, leave alone delivery. They asked me to wait for six months even before ANYTHING can be confirmed. No test drive of AT is available anywhere. If Ford was serious, they would have kept at least one vehicle per city and would have shuttled it around to dealers. Its a "paper launch" in that sense. Dealer treated me properly regarding common interactions, but their's and Fords inclination to keep things dark is what I am livid at. I hope I am not being overly sensitive .

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

I had booked Ecosport Titanium Grey with Riddhi ford at Okhla NewDelhi on 29th June 2013. I had a quick chat with my Sales Agent and was really shocked to hear that till now they have been able to deliver only 45 Ecosport to the customers. Really really a low number. According to him because of the glow plug production was stalled and hence the delay. He has not clue as to whether he will be able to deliver the car in next 2 months. Pretty bad. I'm serious thinking to cancel my booking and have really no options in lieu. Advise folks.

Actually mine was scratched from the factory! I didn't notice it till a few days later (I didn't drive the car around since I was going to gift it to Dad, and he hadn't come) and now they have flat out refused to do anything about it :(.

Also I've updated the ownership thread here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-ecosport.html

with the puppet theory. I haven't seen a 1.5P AT either. All of them I saw were the MTs. If I were you and had been asked to wait for 6 months for just the confirmation, I'd have probably done the same thing. Having these feelings is not being oversensitive or anything at all. From what I can assume, in the next 6 months, most variants will be available off the shelf and If the AT comes out by then, delivery period wouldn't be more than a couple of weeks for that too. Of many other forums I've been following, I see that there are a lot of people like you who cancelled their bookings.

At my dealership, I spoke to an intern who is doing his MBA in Marketing and interning at Ford. When I told him that I'm a part of Team-bhp, he proudly confirmed to me that the overly exaggerated waiting periods are all a hype created by Ford India as a marketing strategy and asked my how it has been working out. I just calmly responded saying it was okay in the first week but its now getting on to people's nerves and they're backing out from their bookings. When I told the same to another SA at the dealership, she very confidently said "No way, not at all. We're getting so many bookings everyday". I showed them a couple of pages on my phone from here and other forums where people wrote about their cancellations. They were just quiet and started saying they still have a lot of bookings and manufacturing process is slow, causing delays in delivery.

So many cancellations within one month of launch already, I'm imagining the fate of Ford a couple months later.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Got a call from speedwheels (multi car showroom) today. They have offered me on the spot delivery for a 60k premium. They say its much cheaper then other dealers in Mumbai who are asking for 100k

I told them a "NO" with a straight face (offcourse the could not see my face on the phone).

They are now offering me "normal" delivery within 3 months for TDCi Titanium version compared to 6 months by regular dealers. Not sure if they can be trusted.

Planning to sell my Ritz Vdi (with a heavy heart), put in a booking for Titanium Diesel and then buy a second hand City AT that can be given to my wife once EcoSport is delivered. (Also looking at other options like used Scorpio AT and a used diesel manual hatch).

The AT version is primarily for export and availability will be limited in our market.

Came across this article in Overdrive. Ford India has started exporting Ecosport to South Africa.
India is not a priority market for Ford, and this was the plan all the way. Only diesels for the local market, and if any excess petrol models produced will be diverted to the local market.

Which dealer has the 1.5L petrol ? and have you seen someone take the delivery of it personally ?, else I think the dealer is bluffing.

Ford has lost all credibility with this fiasco. Its only a matter of time when competition catches up and pushes Ford to its rightful place, at the bottom of the table.

I don't think any of them started exporting the models produced here, without fulfilling the local demand first. Also, with Mahindra and Renault the booking process was very transparent and one had a clear idea on the delivery date.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Not sure if this is true...Can anyone confirm this?

Maruti to launch XA Alpha in end Sept, deliveries to start by end Oct.

http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/maruti...alpha-in-2013/

If true, hope this would bring some sanity and sense in Ford dealers who are out to make a quick buck.

No AT. That is a disappointment.

The same is discussed at XA Alpha . However I don't think it is true, the same was planned for launch in 2015 end or 2016 till couple of months back and suddenly they come with a story that it is going to be launched in few months.
Anyway Ford will not be worried since they already have a good booking to be looked in to and also the pricing of EcoSport is in same territory as speculated for XA Alpha.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

A friend got delivery of a 1.5 Petrol Ambiente a few days back. The vehicle was booked after the launch ! They initially quoted a waiting period of three months and the vehicle came in 1 month without any follow up, etc.

Dealer - Chennai Ford

This is a highly unlikely scenario. Whoever has authored the article you quoted is making the wildest guess.
