Thanks all for the suggestions. Installed this today and it did literally take all of 2 mins or less. A few questions:

1. The replacement switch had a few missing pins at the back compared to the stock switch. Is this normal or something to worry about?

2. The switch works great in 'manual' mode, will try Auto when it gets dark this evening. I did notice though that when putting the front fog lights on there is no indication light that comes on the dash, yet with the rear fog light on there is an orange light that appears. The fog lights do come on as normal though. Never really noticed this before as have hardly used the fog lights with the previous switch installed, but just wondering if this is normal or something funny with the new switch?

3. I have asked the seller for a PDF of the manual, but he hasn't responded. Would somebody mind posting the manual for this?

That is how it is made...nothing to worry

There is no front fog lamp telltale on the cluster on the GT TSI. it is only on the switch that it is backlit.

Thanks for your reply! Will try and decipher the translation in the manual!

Do you suggest to keep it in the default mode or tunnel mode? Will try out the different options and report back on how it goes.

I am using a number plate light camera, this is not a VW OEM but it is of a brand known as DHC, installed by the dealership for 6k

Hate to be a party pooper, but please don't make a habit of stomping on the gas pedal (a.k.a kickdown). This is a real danger, given how addictive the kickdown mode is. It is advisable to plan your overtaking better, and use the kickdown mode sparingly.

Finally got my Red TSI!

Not sure about you guys's experience with VW dealers so far, but there's something very "icky" about their way of doing business; especially true with the TSI because of the long waiting period.

I happened to come across this video about their "3 free services" and wanted to get some inputs from you guys on how to go about my servicing when the time comes. I was told by the executive who sold me the car that the "first service" would be at 1000km to "top up" my engine oil. Second, at 6500 / 7500km and finally the last one at 15k.

Tried to sell me on some early bird service package at around 11k that would make my first real service at 15k cheaper.

All so confusing!

So does this mean you've lost your warranty? The way VW puts it across, sounds like you lose your warranty if you even look at the car the wrong way

Guys sorry in case I have posted this earlier, the 6 years warranty for Polo GT TSI is available now. I got my MY19, Feb car covered for 6 years which is quite necessary keeping in mind the reliability of Germans and dsg. There are price brackets according to purchasing date of vehicle and the best deal is for the new cars less than 60 days old. Mine was falling in that bracket so took it eyes closed with some additional discount from dealership at approx 16k for 5th and 6th year as we get 4 years warranty by default from VW.

I guess the max is 6 years for Polo. I checked with VW they are clueless for 7th year warranty. Has anyone taken the 7th year warranty of GT TSI.

This is my first post on team-bhp. I've recently booked a Polo GT TSI in Carbon Steel Grey (Shaman - Prabhadevi) and intend to do a brief review with pictures once I take delivery.

Will just add a few points regarding accessories and some questions too. Also I've asked the VW team a lot of questions regarding the TSI and would be more than happy to answer any questions asked.

I didn't go for the '18 manufactured model as they didn't have the CS Grey colour and they cut Roadside assistance by 2 years and a couple other things for a discount of ₹39,000 which I thought was not good enough.

They are giving 4 years warranty and roadside assistance and I'm opting to increase it to 6 years by paying ₹18,348. For the 7th year I've been told that they will assess the car after 6 years are completed and then decide whether to extend warranty to the 7th year (paid ofcourse). Should I go for the 2 year AMC for ₹28,000?

I'm getting rubber mats and mud flaps free with ₹3,550; and Bajaj comprehensive insurance at ₹33,909, but that's about it. Paying ₹4,200 extra for Shaman Shield makes my insurance Zero Dep, which I'm opting for.

I'm paying extra for the armrest - ₹6,000 (why?!) and a reverse parking camera - ₹9,000. Though I don't like that the camera doesn't have dynamic guidelines. Any suggestions for a better camera? The car has a decent quality screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto to which adding a high resolution camera could work wonders. Also looking for suggestions for good sunblinds and clear UV/heat resistant window film.

Handling charges of ₹8,900 is something I'm not able to get out of paying.

I'm seriously considering wrapping the entire car in Llumar self healing PPF (from Universal Auto - Sewree) because I'm scared of scratches and they're offering it with a 5 year warranty for ₹1,18,000. Also the company mentions that yellowing or dullness is not an issue. They have a platinum version which is better and has a 10 year warranty which I'm not considering because I don't intend to keep the car for that long. If anyone has any advice on PPF, would love to hear it.

If my points are all over the place I apologise in advance. I've put down all my thoughts as they came to me.

My advice - it's not worth it, given that the price is about 10% of the whole car's price. PPF is fine for door edges and maybe the mirrors and bumpers if you're really keen but that's about the extent of it.

If you do get a deep scratch elsewhere, get that panel repainted when it happens. It will be cheaper for most people given the typical scratch probability.

Absolutely waste of money IMHO. You could get the whole car properly booth painted on the outside after 5 years for a lot less than this amount.
