Perfect description of the sound. Its the exact sound I hear. I am taking my car tomorrow to the 6 months free service. I will bring this up with the service guy.

Ok, let me know what they say. Though i am a little relieved that since its there on your car too, it might actually be "normal". But still, how can such a sound be normal.please:

B) Driver doesn't need to wait for all doors to be closed to lock the car. Once the driver is out he/she can just press the lock button on the fob and walk away. Then when the last of passenger's door or boot is closed, all the car's doors and boot are automatically locked.

This seems to be a wise feature. Many cars miss this. Even luxury ones, I suppose.

Could anybody help me with this?

1. Does the GT Tsi come with RCD 340G/any other which supports Android Auto?
2. Any idea if it comes with LED headlights? One of my friends mentioned he has seen a brand new GT Tsi with LED headlights

I also hear a sound when steering is turned on a stationary car. Its not very loud and its like spring being wound/unwound I showed it to SA on the six month inspection last week. He said its normal.
Though while car was being checked, they opened the cover above the front shocker mounts and were putting some oil, when i asked, they said this will resolve some noise that they found in steering.

However, i can still hear the spring noise.

Just wanted to share my experience of a somewhat similar nature( and similar sound ) that I had with my new TSI after I had done around 3K km. The mechanic, after removing the front wheels undid the shockers and generously greased the steering and suspension system. It took about 2-3 hours before I got the car back. The noise had reduced substantially but still there was that creaking and rubbing sound. It took about 10 days for the sound to be totally eliminated. Most likely in instant case it is the steering system that needs attending to.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

See a lot of people referring to DSG failure concerns.Let me add my two cents.I got a used GT about a year ago and it had already surpassed the warranty. It was a 2014 model and had about 35K on the odo when I got it.Last week about a year into ownership and about 10K of my driving, the DSG failed on the way to work.Towed the car to VW and they replaced the DSG box free of cost.the only charges I had to pay were the consumables which amounted to 8K. The replacement was done with no questions asked, the only thing was that it took 2 weeks to get the car back.

Hope this helps in putting some concerns of the DSG at rest.

4.5 years & 52k Kms later...

I changed my stock Apollo tyres to Michelin 195/60R15. The result was soothing - A much better ride, silence in the car, better steering weight and grip & slightly higher GC that eliminated most of the mudflap speed breaker scrapes.

My battery had drained a couple of times and hence had to get the car started by a Support battery. Can anyone recommend the rating and the make to change the battery?

The stock battery on my ride was rated at 36 Ah and was exide. The best bet would be to go with Amaron 45 Ah, which has good reviews across the board.

Wow. That's good to hear. Any idea why the DSG failed so soon?

This noise is of the strut bearing. My car also had the same noise 4 months into ownership. The noise is of the strut bearings and VW lubricated both by removing the shocks during the first 6 month check up. The noise vanished immediately.

VW says its a common thingy.

Yes. Common it is. My car went for the 6 month checkup yesterday, I complained about the noise, and the steering bearing wheel was lubricated. The technician acknowledged that its almost certain that everyone complains about this in every service and they do this procedure even if the users don't complain. Moisture/water gets into the bearing wheel causing rust, and affecting the free movement thereby generating the noise.

So after this I haven't noticed the sound. But I am keeping a close watch.

Its much lower than that! Its mentioned on the inside of the fuel tank lid.

It is 36psi front and 33psi back in normal load and 36psi front and 38psi back under load/cargo.

As regards to fuel, in the lid it says 95 recommended. Minimum 91. Are these the Octane levels? I fill normal petrol in my Polo GT TSI. Should I be filling the premium high octane versions?

91 RON is fine and that's what is commonly available. But whenever I can get RON 93 or more, TSi gets its steroids :D

You must be aware but just reiterating IOCL xtra premium/HP power/BP speed are just 91 with enigmatic additives, which car manufacturers advise to avoid (mentioned in manuals)

What are the FE Polo GT TSI owners getting? Full AC on, within City traffic?
Will the roof be OK for 6'2''? I TDed 3 yrs ago, I liked the entire package But forgotten its room space. Going to TD again during first week May.

Hi, there's a major suspension problem in my car and the car has only done 24,500 kms. So I gave in the car for the 2nd service for which i was quoted 11,400 rupees, which is an inflation on the quoted service of less than Rs.8000.

The ASS is quoting a total bill of Rs.22500 including
StrutMount Bush - Rs 2500
Link rod, they don't just change the bushes - 6000/-
Brake pad and brake disc which again is a major inflation. - 9000/-
Jumping rod bush - 2000/-

And to my surprise none of these parts are covered in warranty.
Can anybody guide me on how to reach VW to file a complaint against frontier?

While I get it the suspension depends on driver variation, its a big issue if VW is manufacturing such shoddy quality parts that fail before car does any certain kilometers.

Also, the servicing cost has shot up 3000 rupee from the last service.
Post this experience, I recommend everybody to stay away from VW or Polo GT as the suspension is terrible and a massive failure point.

I tried Speed 97, didn't help in my opinion. My car still has tastes, it clearly likes BP more than IOC and HP.
