Hi sunset, not sure I completely understand what you're trying to say. Can you elaborate a little?
Are you talking about controlling radio through your iPhone wirelessly? What exactly does this app do and is it available for android too?

I am on Android 5.3, I am facing an issue with import that my entire contact list is not imported, only selective contacts are imported. Were you facing similar issues? Is there a limitation that only a specific number of contacts can be imported?

In my case it woudlnt import any contacts. Perhaps you should upgrade to the latest android version and try.

This is regarding the RCD 330 G . The VW Radio app is available on iOS and android. It gives you a user interface wherein you can use it as a remote control for the radio and media player.
The iOS app works flawlessly while the android app usage was a bit bumpy. I guess it could be a case of the phone lagging ( my Samsung note 3 neo lags a bit after the lollipop update).
All apps are free and worth a try.
Hi dears.
I might sound silly asking you all this question after owning GT for slightly more than 6 months. Can anyone tell me the PCD of the GT wheels? I am planning to upsize my wheels to 17" and I am being told that the PCD I should look for is 100 by someone and 112 by someone. I am confused. Your help will be much appreciated. Or if someone can guide me to the right links/pages to learn more about wheel specs, that would be great!!

PCD for polo is 5*100. It's 112 for the Passat if I remember correctly!

It works for me in the above situation. Only problem i faced with hill assist is it wont engage when its needed repeatedly in short span.
Example: You start from uphill, it holds. Now if u brake immediately after moving slightly ( imagine stop and go traffic movement in uphill ) and start, it doesn't hold :(
It needs some time or some distance before engaging again (yet to figure out which one)
Btw, is it ok if it rolls backward when the gear is in D? Am kinda new to automatic and it happened few times. Will it damage the gearbox or it will engage clutch automatically in that situation? Can i accelerate to avoid that?

How steep was the road? I have seen that HH doesn't engage on minute gradients.
Also, are you shiting from N to D and immediately giving A input? HH doesn't engage in N. Give it 1 sec in D before releasing the foot brake.
I was once stuck in a Ghat section with stop start traffic. Didn't encounter this issue.
But what I do is just let a gap build between me and the car in front. Don't start stop for 2 feet. Let a gap of atleast 1 car length (I like 2 car lenghts) build up before starting to move. Less stress on you and the car. Also this helps pace the traffic behind.

If you have problems with Hill Hold. Just use the hand brake. Release the handbrake as you give A input. Its actually next to impossible to roll backwards in an Automatic if you use Handbrake.

It works even in small steeps. I don't know how small you mean, but if its enough to roll,Hill Hold works.
And,No I wasn't shifting from N to D. But i moved few inches and braked,it didn't reengage. Will follow your tip from now :)
Still figuring out how to handle steeps with load. If i stop in slope with full passengers and then start, i feel like it struggles. Is it best to shift to manual in these situations? Thanks for the advice.

Update. It's on page 217 now. Briefly, it says maintain 2/3 red engine speed at max upto 1000 kms. Meaning not go beyond 4000 rpm. And for next 500 kms , may use top engine speed occasionally. Run in gets completed at 1500kms.
Thanks to fellow bhpians to pointing this out and to a special friend who told me about it before I bought the car. He also recommends, cooling off the turbo before parking, which is like spending some 30seconds before turning the ignition off or use with light A pedal while reaching your destination. Given the complex nature of the engine and gearbox, these tips if followed may be extremely helpful in enhancing the life of our beloved machine. I doubt if anyone owning a TSI won't fall in love with it. I am smitten. Had booked a creta AT and changed my mind after just one TD of GT TSI .
I own a 5 months old (5000 km) GT TSI. On 2 instances so far I have noticed that the P to R gear engage is particularly stiff. It happens only on the first time after I start the engine & shift gears and after that it is the usual butter smooth. The stiffness is pretty apparent and the gear also makes a clunk noise for P->R shift. :mad:
The 2 instances when I noticed this was the day when I drove the car for long distances - Mumbai to Mahabs and Mumbai to Aurangabad. On highway I never used R, but upon reaching hotel once I parked and then again started the car, I noticed this stiffness. This stiffness lasted for that particular day and then next day onwards it was back to normal. I have never faced this in the usual city commute (daily running is less than 25 kms). I am doing a Goa trip in mid-April and would be able to check if it happens again.
I suspect this has something to do with (over)heating in the gearbox. Has anyone noticed anything similar?

I am going to get my GT TSI delivered next week; I did an inspection of the car today and found that the car comes with Goodyear tyres. While I gather that the Apollos are good and the MRFs are bad, wanted to get feedback on the Goodyear tyres. The car will be driven by my wife 80% of the time, so the priorities are ride quality, road noise and handling in that order.
While I have listed handling as third, I would still like to get tyres that provide decent grip and cornering abilities for when yours truly is using it.

I think the DSG oil change is specified only for the DQ250, or the 6 speed wet clutch DSG boxes. The oil used in the replacement is indeed a synthetic one too.
For the DQ200, or the 7 speed dry clutch DSG boxes, I dont think VW/Skoda has specified an oil change interval. Could someone else confirm?

I've got Goodyears in my GT. Have travelled 8k kms on them without any issues so far. Tyre noise is minimal, handling and road grip is good. This is in comparison to Apollo Acereles I had earlier on my Alto.
Around 3 weeks back, I read the article on TeamBhp that another updated version of Polo with DRLs has been spotted testing. I was going to book the GT TSI that week but kept the decision on hold after reading that news. Once you’ve decided to buy a car, it is just so difficult to postpone the buying decision. After 1 week of thinking, I figured out that I could not wait for the updated version. I pacified myself with the facts that:
1. The current version was updated just a couple of months back.
2. There was no news from VW as to when the new version will be launched.
3. No news if there will be any other significant updates other than DRLs.
4. Insurance premiums were going to increase from 1st April 2016.
So I went ahead and booked GT TSI with VW Palace Cross. The car was in stock so it was just a matter of me selling my old car for down payment and getting the loan approved for the balance amount.
I sold my Toyota Etios Liva to Toyota U Trust, which was a very easy and quick task. Their people came to my place, checked out the car, gave a quote the next day and came to pick up the car and gave the cheque. Never thought that selling a car could be so easy.
The GT TSI was 11L on road. No significant discounts were offered. The only thing I could negotiate was insurance. They were quoting me 34k for comprehensive insurance. I called up a few companies and got quote of 25k. VW Palace Cross agreed to match this quote. I further had a 45% NCB from my previous policy so finally the insurance was around 15.5k for me. I did buy the extended warranty which was 13k. I did not take the floor mats from the showroom so 3k discount there. Overall I got the car at around 10.9L.
One place where I made a mistake and could have saved 4k more was: I had to cancel my previous insurance policy on Liva to get NCB certificate. So I sold Liva to U-Trust without the insurance and they paid me 5k less for the car than agreed since I was not giving them the insurance. One mistake was that I did not negotiate this. Second mistake was that I could actually get a NCB certificate by just paying 1k extra to the insurance company and that way I could have given the old insurance to U-Trust and also could get 45% NCB discount on the new policy for GT TSI. Lesson learnt!
Got the delivery last week.
Initial impressions are:
1. It’s a looker. Specially after owing a dated styled Liva.
2. TSI engine and DSG gearbox- lethal combination. I have been trying to follow the run-in recommendations but I just give in sometimes and have some fun with the S mode stupid:
3. Suspension seems hard since I’ve been driving the Liva but the stability and handling at higher speeds is awesome.
4. Steering: Again, it is significantly harder and it sometimes bothers me during tight parkings. But then when you are on the road and doing corners, the feel and feedback from the steering is awesome.
5. Fuel consumption: When the engine is cold and drive is short, the car hogs on fuel. I’ve got 6 kmpl once. But then I did a drive from Yelahanka to Airport with cruise control at 60 kmph and it returned 21.2 kmpl. It just means that it’s a gem of an engine which will do high speed sprints when you want and return you a good mileage when you drive sane.
I could go on and on. It’s just a lovely car.
Planning to get Kagu 3D mats and leather style seat covers soon. Also, I am planning to get the silver-ish number plates. Similar to the ones that are given with Audi cars by the showroom. Since showrooms give these plates, I am assuming that they are legal. The font is regular but the plate have a silver look. Anyone knows where to get such plates in Bangalore?
