In Bangalore a dealer had 2-3 2015 December TSI's available when we checked in early Jan 2016. Normally all dealers give some offer on the previous year manufactured car. For the TSI, no chance-No offers or discounts. Enquired after 10 days, all had been sold.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Query: May I know how good is VW Polo GT TSI as a used buy? It will be mostly used by lady folks in the family as a city runabout. There will be occational highway drives also.
Planning to keep the car for atleast 5 years. Please suggest how reliable are the dsg gearbox on this one. Will its maintenance turn out to be very expensive in the long run according to hatchback standards?

Thank you

If I would be buying a car for use by the lady folks (read driven by the ladies) , I would eliminate all possible risks as I wouldn't want them to be stuck with a break down.
Imagine that happening in a dark allay at night...

If I plan to have it for 5 years I would be looking to take extended warranty so I would be covered for 4/5 years!

We also wouldn't be knowing how well (or badly) the car was treated by the previous owner ( and his brother, friends, driver etc) which is all the more important as this is an enthusiastically driven car.

It would be a lot less risky to get a fresh car.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Got the baby monster last Thursday. It's just unlimited fun when you drive your own baby TSI. Upgraded tyres to 205/55/R15 Yoko S drives, 99% happy with the comfort and ride quality so no plans to upsize to 16 inch. Painted alloys, grill, grill and trunk emblems, and the chrome part on the front bumper, customization ends there. Maybe will go for dual colour emblems, checking Aliexpress for best deal. And yes removed the GT/TSI badges, mainly I hate chrome and don't enjoy colouring them

In future, would love to get her remapped at Wolf Moto, only once she crosses 10K KM mark, VW warranty claim process is the only thing which is standing in between. WolfMoto's recent project delivered 130BHP and 240Nm torque, VCDS was showing 115BHP and 210Nm torque with stock map I'm not technically sound enough to understand things to core, will try to meet them personally and gather more info on that. Auto dimming IVR, decent android infotainment system and paddle's comes next in list, hopefully before 20K KM.

Two things I felt negative was, rattling in the cabin and lack of steering feel compared to FIAT's and old school Ford's. Well DSG + TSI is too much fun so I just don't care the negatives.

If anyone has plans to buy a used GT TSI ( or for that matter any desirable car), get contacts of spoilt rich kids. One of my friend's friend sold a 2013 or 14 model for a paltry 2.5 lakhs.
Had I known of this offer earlier, you would have found my kidneys for sale in OLX.
On a serious note, cars owned by such individuals may not be maintained well ( totally dependent on the owner) if you know what I mean.

My friend had bought a hardly used GT TSI couple of months back, As the owner was leaving abroad, He got the car checked at a VW service center and he has since been enjoying the TSI + DSG a lot, Another thing i came across by accident while talking to couple of used car dealers here that GT TSI in used market has a good demand too.

What is the service interval for the GT TSI?
My baby is approaching 22.5K but the service reminder was set at 15K after the 15K service.
I had the first visit at 7.5K and the second one at 15K.
If the service indicator is to be trusted (assuming the service centre guys did not set wrongly, service is due at 30K km.
The service people are confused and not all sure themselves about the service interval, and the manual very vaguely says "India and Russia Only : Inspection every 15000 km"
I have passed 22k and need to know if service is coming due 22.5k or only at 30k.

As far as I'm aware service is due every 15K KM. 7.5K KM service is basically a free check, so there is no need to do service at 22.5K KM. Maybe guru's over here can confirm this.

Servicing is at every 15k kms, Or One year which ever comes first, 7.5k kms visit is just a normal routine checkup. So if your one year is going to be completed soon even though you haven't clocked 15k kms, Getting your car serviced would not be a bad idea, I am getting my jetta serviced at 25k only because last service was almost 11 months back.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

The GT is 22K old at just about one month under 1 year of age.

15K service was done about 5 months ago, so I guess I can wait for the 30K mark.

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

No you can't! Every 15,000K or every one year, whichever comes sooner. Book you car in for service now!

Or, wait, I'm confused now: I suppose it will be one year from your last service.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

No, the last service (at 15000 km) was done about 5 months ago.

The car is now just past 22000 km, so I still have about 7 months to go to reach 30000 km.

The car is now nearly one year old and had its service 5 months ago, so next service should be due in 7 months or 8000 km, whichever is earlier.

Is this right or am I confused too? (-_-)ゞ

Its correct! You have 7 months or 8000 kms left, Service when whichever of it reaches before.
