What they said the exhaust note would be more than enough to satisfy my ego.

Irrational? The smile on your face when you're behind the wheel would mean otherwise!

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

I need some info on GT TSI from fellow members.

what is the Engine RPM driving at these speeds on flat straight road
80kmph in D7
100kmph in D7

80 kmph in D6
100kmph in D6

I was not able to monitor this during the test drive..I was too busy enjoying the drive!!

all the above scenario that you have mentioned the engine rpm speed wont be more than 3-3.5 k at the max, ofcourse who will notice the rpm when you drive a GT tsi, its a car that makes you forget things to be noticed, you are so indulged in driving her with a big smile on your face.

With 7 gears, I would expect 100kmph to come up at less than 2.5K rpm to be honest!

My i10 auto does 80 at 2.5K and 100 at less than 3K
I am expecting 7 Speed DSG and the good bottom end torque to require an even lower RPM.

Expecting 80 at 1.7K and 100 at 2K in D7.

Waiting for GT owners to give the real values...

100kmph in D7 is a shade under 2000rpm or at max 2100 rpm from what I remember. Need to check for exact numbers.

Unless you are specifically trying by doing heavy foot driving, you cannot see D6 at 80kmph ( leave alone 100kmph). With normal driving the car is already at D7 between 60-70kmph max.

Note: mine is a vento tsi.

Thanks for the info.
So 80 to 90 will be very very relaxing and quiet indeed on a long express.way drive. With cruise control set to 90, you may literally doze off out of boredom!

You are right, DSG up shifts pretty fast, I remember doing 50-60 with a light foot and it was already in D7!

Wrt D6 I was looking for RPM in manual mode. I should have been specific.

80 kmph in D6 & 100kmph in D6 are highly unlikely. If you've stomped on the throttle, 80 - 100 is dealt with in 3rd or 4th gear. In manual, both those speeds are under 3k rpm.

Hope this helps,
Cartman

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Took delivery of the GT TSi on Gandhi Jeyanthi.

As today was holiday, the showroom was closed. Only my SA was there for the delivery. Spent some time doing the final inspections per TBHP PDI checklist. Then the SA explained all the features of the car to my wife and we took delivery of the car.

At the showroom.

Awesome !!! Congratulations !!!

Can you post some pics

Specifically looking for new features.
steering wheel and the cruise control stalk
Glovebox cooling vent
Buttons for Mirror open/close

Just curious, is there anyway that I can use the key to locate the car in a parking lot? like making the blinkers flash without unlocking the car?

Congrats graaja. Beautiful car you have got there. Your garage looks perfect now. A fun-to-drive diesel and a fun-to-drive petrol. I suspect that you may start driving the Polo more than your Jetta

Thanks freedom. I will post some pictures over the week end. I don't think there is any way for locating the car without unlocking. Maybe there is some VCDS tweak for this. Other owners with experience in VCDS should be able to comment on this.

Thanks amansanc. The challenge for me now is to balance the usage between these two cars

I have a very simple solution for you. Just press the lock button on your keyfob and the blinkers will flash and the car wont unlock too. No sound though.

Cool. That will work.
About the Beep/Horn .. its good to have in big parking lots, but I am anyways going to have the Dealer disable the Horn for lock/unlock.
There I times when I leave early morning 5-530 and that horn beep on unlocking the car will surely disturb my neighbors.
