Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

To prospective owners in Delhi NCR. My SA from VW Saket dealership called me a couple of days back and mentioned that he has 2 GTs in stock, one red and one white, and can give ready delivery.

Thanks!
I've been meaning to book one.
Most probably the red TSI.

Not really, on polo/vento HL, MFSW allows volume control, mute and BT operations from controls on steering. Certainly it is through CANBUS. How do I know? I swapped PEM RCD320 with RCD510 and all CAN functions including OPS works.

My new POLO GT TSI

Took delivery of my new POLO GT TSI a little more than a week back. Had it sent to a well known store in Chennai to get it spruced up a bit.

A few pics:-

Car at delivery yard:-

Car after the small additions:-

Will be getting the paddles steering wheel and the paddle extenders. But can't find the steering for the facelifted version. Anyone have any info on this?

Yup, had the alloys powder-coated to matte dark grey.

Here's a closer look:-

I believe you're in Chennai as well. May I know where did you paint your alloys? I would like to do the same for my Polo as well. Looks super hot! TIA

Got all the work done in Car Cares. You can get in touch with them. They did an amazing job. I put more photos on the Car Cares thread, you can follow the below link:-

Hot damn!! That looks beautiful.

Any Mumbai folks can point me somewhere where I can get this done? I've meaning to paint the alloys for some time now, this would help.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.2L GT TSI : Official Review

Request to all owners, I am planning to buy a GT TSI subject to below queries:-

1. Is normal petrol not good enough for this car?
2. What is the mileage that can be expected from normal petrol?

well i have used normal and speed 97 both. the car performs pretty amazing with normal petrol too and i'm yet to try other premium fuels but with 97 i experience....

1. better and smoother engine note.
2. noticeable better pickup & acceleration
3. better mileage by upto 2 km/L
4. also using the best possible premium fuel may help in avoiding knocking in the engine in future from what my fellow gt tsi owners have told me.

mileage, I get about 11.5 km/L with a mixed style of driving. the car is currently at 3200km so I expect it to improve further as the engine settles in by 10000 kms.

the max I've seen is about 20.1 km/L over 15 kms highway drive with 2 people and a light foot. the tsi/dsg combo rewards you with the convenience of an automatic that is very frugal when driven sedately and also the rapid acceleration when you need it while still maintaing decent fuel economy.

I have the gt tsi for almost 6 months now, I have clocked 13k kms on the car, I have also remapped it from petes, i am mostly doing highway driving where it is difficult to buy speed, normal fuel is absolutely fine for this car, better the fuel grade will always help but it is not mandatory, it is a personal choice.

I live in Mumbai and mostly drive bumper to bumber, i am also heavy footed, so i get a mileage of 8-9 per litre and on highways cos i always do spirited driving get around 11.5-13 per litre.

Cheers

1.8tsi, the 55 extra bhp give it a punch the Polo cannot match. Though the DSG is very convenient.

Thanks akshay. Tell me, wouldn't the extra weight of the laura reduce the power of the bhp. Also, the long wheelbase should hamper the dynamics on the twisties?
