What a ripoff for the wheel balance and alignment! Please get it done from elsewhere. It would be cheaper. |

Did the service adviser state "mineral" oil ? I'm sorry for asking this question as you've clearly mentioned mineral oil, but I'm curious as I've been talking to my nearby service station since around 6 months regarding the oil change in the gearbox from synthetic to mineral , but the only response I've got is "We haven't received any orders from the company". I even mailed VW , and the answer I got is that they have no information as of now. And if it IS mineral oil in your gearbox. Did you specifically ask for the change , or did your service adviser do it as per protocol please: |

After some time he called me back that they had received some directive from company and they will change it free of cost. I asked him whether it is mineral oil or synthetic, but he didn't knew the grade and said that it would be done as per company directive. |

I did not get a chance to check properly but I notice that the tranny won't go into kick down at all in D mode. Could there be something wrong with the kickdown mode button on the accelerator pedal? Although its not possible as kickdown works fine in sports mode, they ought to be the same sensors, right? Or is it the VAG's strategy to save the DSG by not straining it a lot. If so, this will slightly hamper the way the car is driven in city traffic. Anyone else felt this after the software fix? I will check again in the morning again and update. cheers, D. |

Wow, if this could work, one doesn't have to save up for a Steering wheel swap or worry whether the airbag might not work, etc. Can the mod gurus confirm if such a simple plug-and-play is possible? If this is in fact genuine OEM and costs only 13k, it makes me feel like VW as short short changed GT customers. We all could have had paddle shift without worrying about voiding the warranty.:Frustrati |

It does work and works well. However, In order to install the paddles, the steering wheel needs to be cut manually which usually causes scuff marks all around the steering wheel and the finish around the paddles is not very optimal. It looks very after marketish. The Flat bottom steering wheel on the other hand is top-notch and a fantastic piece of equipment. It is absolutely worth every single penny. If you are sourcing one, you can do through Pete's Automotive. They are slightly more expensive and Airbags are guaranteed to work. |

It has to kickdown even in D mode. If it doesn't then there's a problem. If it remains in a higher gear it will try to slip the clutch to prevent stalling which is worse. |

On the contrary I found the car to respond better. I don't know whether it is due to gearbox or engine oil change or something else . The kick down mode is working fine in D. |

My brother is also waiting for the facelift but theres so many rumors, some says coming in may-july-september, no confirm info though. If vw not offering changing in interior then there's no point in waiting though. Steering wheel & new instrument cluster is worth the wait though but that changers aren't spotted in india spy shots though. If you buy now, you'll get 3 years insurance & 3 years extended warranty & 3 year road road assistance for free. |
