Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Any news on 2015 refresh version of the Storme?

I heard they are coming up with front facing third row plus other changes.
If they are launching a refresh, why not offer 4x4 in the EX version as well?

There is a thread which is discussing this. The last post in this thread suggest that we are looking at a May 2015 launch. So far the best I have heard is February 2015 and the worst is second qtr (i.e. May / June 2015).

Recently visited TATA showroom and it looks like the music system has been removed even from the top-end model of the Strome.

So that means you also dont have temperature display in MID? It has been removed without any updates from Tata Motors

Yes. when I cycle through the MID options 0C blinks continuosly. I believe that is because there is no sensor. Someone mentioned it can be added separately, not sure. I personally don't need it.

The sensor has been cut from Chasis post serial DNJ08151
I have loved and used this feature and would want it back. Please do point me to any thread on how to do it and where is it mounted on the chasis

regards
Rajeev

Didn't know about this. Quite a funny thing, coming from a company that boasts of being the parent of JLR!

I mean I wouldn't have minded it if this was some entry level tractor to be sold at ultra low price in some remote rural area. But at a million plus rupees -
1. Either don't remove the temperature sensor
2. Or, charge some 200rs for it and increase the price. Okay its costlier - whatever the price. Maybe another million.
3. But if you want to remove it - well have the courtesy and basic capability to not leave any loose ends like a prehistoric LCD display that continues to display the temperature - now 0C! How much would a poor software developer (like me) charge to tweak the software to remove that option in the display cycle?

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Hello guys.
A little advice needed. Almost two months earlier when on a fine morning I turned the keys for ignition, the car almost started before everything went dead. Everything means everything. All the lights on the dash went out. Turned the keys a few times but nothing happened. Opened the bonnet, shook the leads from the battery and the power returned. Exactly the same thing happened today evening. However this time I didn't even have to open the bonnet. The moment I got down and closed the door, the power came back.
Have any of you faced this issue? It seems to be a loose connector somewhere, but could it be anything else?
(I haven't gone to the workshop yet for this problem. I am thinking of taking this up with the SA when I go for 15k service later this month.)
Thanks.
