Hope your issue is sorted, if not, I faced a similar issue last week on my G01. Both fobs died in a span of a couple of weeks. Changed the battery with new Maxell CR2032 ones you get over the counter in the most accessory shops. Didn't help. Intrigued, i took out my Fluke multimeter and checked both old and new cells. Old cells (BMW OEM) were Panasonic and showed 2.7v and new Maxell's about 2.97v. Ordered new Duracell pack from Amazon. Arrived in 2-days. Voltage measured across was about 3.3volts. Both fobs working as before now.

Lessons learnt- don't trust OTC lithium button cells. Either they are duplicate or old stock and there is no substitute for a good multimeter handy lol:.

BMW recommends changing key fob battery every 2 years.

OTC cells are mostly fakes. Good that there are genuine sellers on Amazon retailing these CR2032.

Even I changed them at home for my X1 with Panasonic make purchased from Amazon. At BMW Workshop they would charge Rs 600 for the Rs 30 cell.

It's the rear right lamp, and it was inexplicably filled with condensate. Thanks again. The left turn signal works normally. Will have the bulb replaced immediately.

Is there a safety related technical recall being done by BMW? I just got an email regarding one for my 320d (March 2016). I have emailed them back asking for details about the work/issue they are talking about.

Just spoke to the dealer, apparently its a faulty airbag issue and they will be working on changing the same.

So I finally bit the bullet, went ahead and bought a BMW F30. It is a 2012 model, single owner car with 35K on the ODO. Took it to Navnit and got it checked. Full service history was available and that gave the confidence to take the plunge. Have had the car with me for the last couple of months, have not driven much, just over 500 Kms. But I have thoroughly enjoyed the same.

Now to the questions.

1. I am based in Namma Bengaluru. There are few scratches on the Bumpers and I would like to get it fixed and repainted. Any recommendations.

2. The ASS said that I need to replace the battery soon. It is the original battery that was there in the car from Factory. What do you think I should do, considering the car has done only 35K.

3. I have to also change the tyres. I am thinking of changing the RFTs to normal Tubeless and getting a spare wheel and rim. But I am torn between the 2, i.e. having RFTs with a tyre repair kit and portable compressor vs Normal tubeless with a spare wheel in the boot.

Regarding your questions :

2) better to have the battery replaced if the dealer is suggesting the same. It's worked for 10 years and that's saying something: why push it.
Can look on the forum for references of a distributor for Varta AGM batteries which could be cheaper than the bmw official battery

3) if you don't need the boot space, the tubeless route is better. More options, better ride & handling, cheaper pricing, etc.

Find a high quality paint shop and get it done outside, will be significantly cheaper than going to BMW. Check with fellow Bangalore boys on this.

Would be prudent to change it, it has run its life. Go with Varta's AGM battery, should cost you about 27k all in. Don't know how favorably that compares to BMW pricing, forgot how much they charge (closer to 40k?). Check once if you are so inclined.

IMO you should go with tubeless tyres for the ride comfort they offer, at a lower price point than RFTs. If you feel the need for a space saver, get it (can bail you out on a few occasions, ask me). BMWs space saver costs about 18k, but worth it for those few times it saves your bacon. But yes, getting it means your boot space is severely compromised.

Prices have gone up for the space savers since you bought it - I recently paid around 30K or thereabouts with GST in 2020/21, though on our old E60 it was around 18K. Just wish I had retained it back then.

So what if I simply buy an extra tyre and a normal rim as opposed to the space saver. Other than the loss in boot space, is there any other challenges.

Wouldn't be an issue and would actually be recommended.
However finding a single alloy in good shape with BMWs odd 120 PCD would be a little difficult.

Hello All, Have to change the wiper blades of my F30 320d. The OE ones are rather expensive coming close to 10K. Any alternates that you suggest. I have shortlisted Bosch from Boodmo priced at 1900rs. Let me know your thoughts.

Go with the Bosch, I’m using them on my ride too. Good quality, performance, and longevity, at a fair price.

For the pre lci F30 320d, quote from authorised dealer is 1.3 lakhs. This would include all 3 chains (oil pump chain, HPFP chain and the top chain that drives the cam) , tensioners, oil spray unit and timing chain guides as per my advisor. BMW offers 2 years warranty / unlimited kms on the changed parts.

Quotes I got from outside were 65k, 75k, 1lakh, 1.1 lakh respectively from various specialised garages.

I think the bmw warranty and accountability is a huge factor when deciding where to get the job done from.

I wanted to try Bosch but couldn't find one on Amazon with the suitable adapters for f30. I needed the wipers asap since my oem wipers were streaking badly and boodmo would take a lot of time to deliver.

I've only used the Autoclean wipers for less than a month now and they seem to get the job done. Will comment on long term durability after a couple of months down the road.
