Since I have just booked a cruze hence the question of a new facelift troubles me also but I am assured that Chevrolet will not launch so soon- as they have just launched in June the cruze with updated engine and have instructed their dealers to upgrade their demo cars with immediate effect as the changes were major. Now if they were to launch so soon then the dealers will not at all be happy. So I think Chevrolet will launch it most probably by June next year.if you can wait that long then you are welcome to do that , up-gradation of cars will always continue.

I was looking at the following cars:-
1. Chevrolet Cruze LTZ AT.
2. Skoda Laura L&K.
3. Volkswagen Jetta.

Striked off Skoda and VW for their pathetic A.S.S. 3 of my friends own skodas (2 laura and 1 Fabia) of which 1 laura and 1 fabia are facing servicing issues.
VW stalled on me during an Test Drive.

Honestly I liked the cruze minus the chevrolet badge.

But just then I am flirting with the idea of stretching my budget a bit in favor of the X1 minus the I drive.

I actually dont mind waiting 3 months as per what I was told for the new cruze.

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

I plan to go and book the Cruze tomorrow. Yes, I have given into the temptation...lost my patience....cannot wait no more

If anyone can be kind enough to give me a feedback on the after market ICE (read my earlier post in here on the Caska and Mega Audio) so that I can try and negotiate the price of the same with the dealer tomorrrow.

Again I would like to thank everyone here for supporting and bearing with confused state of mind. Will keep you posted on all developments (hopefully positive).

Many threads of mine got deleted and modified last night/today morning. Hope I do not breach any posting rules now on and continue with respect for this forum.

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

First of all, apologies to the Modertaors of Team Bhp for breaching the forum posting rules for the past 2 days. I am still trying to figure out as to where exactly I am going wrong and will probably figure it out soon.

Now for the great news - I finally booked the Cruze LTZ today. The color is uncertain between the sand grey and Atlantis blue. The wife prefers the blue as it appears more attractive when all shining on first looks. However I am uncertain on the long term durability and appeal of the blue as I have seen a few Cruze in this color and they start appearing very dull after a few months. Any suggestions as I need to confirm from either color to the dealer tomorrow ?

As for the ICE, the dealer quoted me 53k for the Caska and 43k for the Mega Audio. But was surprised me was that the Caska no longer comes with the the separate DVD player that sits on top, but now is an integrated system with the DVD that replaces the entire original entertainment system (the display screen and the set of buttons right below it). As I saw the display piece and it appeared that it will fit well in the Cruze. The dealer did not have the Mega Audio system on display and but insisted that the Caska gives much better Audi output and quality. If anyone can suggest whether any of them are worth the purchase and function well ? I would prefer to roll out the car from the showroom with the ICE installed.

Again appreciate all the support which significantly contributed in today's decision.

Yes I have seen the blue colour looking really bad in slightly older cruzes. I would suggest sand drift grey. It looks smashing.

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

Thanks Pancham. That is precisely my only concern with the Atlantis Blue, though Blue is my favourite colour. Now is someone can advise me on the ICE - mobike008 or any other Cruze experts here ?

May I take the liberty to answer your caska query ? Caska will no doubt look nice on your car but u feel the price qouted is a bit high.

I completely agree with you Pancham. But for the Cruze, there really aren't more ICE options available beyond Caska and Mega. I do not mind Mega Audio as well if it functions well and I can get a good price from the market. Some one mentioned that Sony has come out with their system which fits in the Cruze as well.

Actually I will not mind a good navigation system with Bluetooth phone connectivity and reverse parking cameras. But I doubt any one navigation system will offer these functions. I can do without the DVD player.

Have you tried out any other accessory shop that stocks Caska. That could turn out to be a little less expensive.
P.s: I have been following your posts for sometime and let me tell you I am completely in love with the Cruze. So go for it. It won't disappoint you.

Finally confirmed the sand drift grey for my Cruze.

I have been researching a few other forums for a good ICE for my Cruze and there are many threads that state that Caska does not work well and is not worth the upgrade. Most members there suggest systems such as Pioneer etc. that require a lot of wiring and change of the original Cruze fittings that I will not want. I think those ICE units with the Amps etc are for audio freaks which I def am not.

I am looking for a decent sounding unit (I think the new stock speakers and tweeters are good enough for me) with a good interactive and fully compatible visual display with functions such as bluetooth, navigation, Rear parking. I thought the new Caska looked promising but if users are suggesting against it then there must be a reason enough. I have not found much on Mega Audio on the web.

Would appreciate feedback so that I can now finalize the ICE purchase as well

Pancham, I think I will manage a Caska for around 48k-50k from outside dealers.

Firstly, Congratulations for the car Nice choice of color, Cruze looks smashing in grey.

And regarding you Caska query, I will suggest you to stay away from them. I have seen caska units in person, And the quality is not upto the mark, For 50k, It leaves a lot to be desired.

I remember reading a thread on this forum regarding caska unit in civic, Where the guy was not happy with the unit and removed it.

Here's the link to the thread- http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...y-product.html

I suggest you to keep the stock system, It sounds pretty well in stock form, And you can add a separate screen in dash for reverse camera, If you need that.

Cheers
Sameer

Was searching on web for ice options for cruze and came to know of this unit. The speakers in the new cruze are very good , what it needs is a good coloured display. This has the added benefit of having mmi premium maps. Can anyone through light on this. Copy pasted the write up from the site- hope comes out right.

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

I had no idea that MMI sells these in-dash units. Assume these are Chinese units rebranded as MMI? Specs seem to be comparable to Caska/MegaAudio but hopefully will have proper warranty.

Has anyone tried these out?

Re: 2012 Chevrolet Cruze : Official Review

Thanks sameerg001, drchernish and it wasn't me for your valuable comments. Now my response as per my research to your feedbacks:

1. Mjumrani's experience of the Caska is in his Civic horrifying. The 16 defects mentioned by him show Caska to be a disastrous system. But I was also a little surprised that mayankjha 1806 did not face much problems with his Caska. Here is a web link of the 2012 launch of the new Caska systems:

http://www.indiatechonline.com/it-for-you.php?id=431

I saw the new Caska for the Cruze and this model does not have the external DVD player and has a replacement entertainment button panel which replaces the original one n the car.

2. I can get a separate navigation from MMI for around 10k, but what I need most importantly is a Bluetooth connectivity and would not mind a touch screen. No point in getting 3-4 separate devices for each function. That is why I was looking for an all-in-one
ICE.

3. As for the MMI ICE, search YouTube for ' Crappy map my india Navigator ICE for Cruze' and you will see a few videos showing this ICE to be extremely faulty.

4. Has anyone heard about Mega Audio ICE. Even this is supposed to be compatible with the Cruze and cost around 12k less than Caska. A member on Team bhp by name of 'lawyer' has reviewed Mega Audio' on his Cruze in 2011 and seemed to find it good enough.

5. I agree that the original stock speakers do a good enough job, but the stock screen is boring and I feel a coloured ICE will further uplift the car's look and provide more functionality - if it works properly!!!

Why cannot brands such as Pioneer, Sony come out with units that can be a plug and play like Caska. As mentioned in my earlier post, someone mentioned that Sony now has a similar ICE but could not locate it n the web.

Any further suggestions and comments ?

I was just searching the wen for more options and visited the MMI website to have a look at their offers. Saw the navigations systems and liked The VX240 and VX 250 which seems to offer bluetooth phone connectivity, rear camera compatibility and multimedia player. The 250 model apparently has 3D maps. If these navigations systems work the way it is mentioned, then I think this can be the solution to my problem. What I need is the navigation, bluetooth and media - and these features the MMI units seem to offer.

I wonder why no one suggested this to me ? Hope there is not any catch to these systems ? And the cherry is the price.. Near 1/4th the price of Caska

I will try and find out about these models and if anyone on this forum can provide some info too.

Hope this works out
