^^ It is a genuine niggle and hits the most when you have Google Maps and Charging ON too. The phone gets super hot having a sunbath on the dash.
I dont know the relevance of the hue and cry about a phone holder in a car. Its almost 3 years since the launch and are you guys finding this issue now? Whats the point in asking renault that we need a change in the dashboard after knowing how the dash looks like and bought it? If renault start listening to all the demands they will never be able to design a console to satisfy all.
For keeping a phone, why cant we use a handrest kit? I am not able to find a place even on an S class dashboard to keep a phone to access maps other than the handrest. All the personal customizations required for a user, he himself has to take care of.
Got the four doors damped today and installed infinity kappa components at the front. Took a short TD before the drive to goa tomorrow and felt the car is more silent and the door does close with a thud :) .
I find plenty of places to keep my iPhone in the car and sometimes if I have to keep the phone in the area provided above the head unit I just put my wallet or a soft toy on top of it to protect it from the heat.

I plan to do the same for my Duster. Please share the cost details for both the speakers and the damping. Where did you get this done?

I got it done at Limra car decors Banaswadi . Damping was done using local material with two layers for front door and one layer for the rear . Component used was infinity kappa 60.11cs . Total cost including labour was 19k .
I had earler got an amplifier , Polk coaxial installed from them and using a jbl sub from my previous car . Quality of workmanship is good and music output is up to my expectations .
Hope this helps .
I am in conversations to finalize Renault duster explore edition - what do the renault owners say - is it worth it? should i give it few months for the face lift to arrive? also if i go with the option of buying it now is the damping element taken care in the newer models?
Thanks!
Arun

The biggest drawback of these much touted "Explorer Editions" is the lack of even 2 airbags:Frustrati. At least have the basics in place Renault, before launching these fancy editions.
Updated my car's security system with genuine Renault accessory, which cost me 2050 Rs.
The system is so well integrated that, to mute the reverse buzzer sound, all you have to do is turn on and off park light once.

Hi anil, what exactly does the additional security system do?

The kit is designed to enhance the O.E. remote keyless entry to constantly monitor the O.E. remote keyless entry lock and unlock, to add anti - theft features when all the vehicle's doors are locked and closed completely.
It adds a buzzer to reverse gear with beep sound and flashing turn indicators.
The system also has, shock sensors /shock detection system, vehicle search function and door open reminder.

Does the system take care of auto locking after attaining certain speed which is really missing in the Duster?
Sorry deepeshh, that feature is missing. I will ask my dealer and confirm, if
it is possible to enable the same.Out of the box, the feature is missing.

Turn on the key and keep your lock butto9n pressed for a few seconds until you hear a beep. This will enable auto lock. I did it in my car as well as a terrano.
^^ Just kidding: do that every time , and you have Auto Manual lock.
I didn't find much info on the 2015 model so felt like sharing my experience.
My 85 ps RXL-O (Woodland Brown) came home last week and done about 500 kms so far. Its the regular model not explorer.
The dashboard is a lot better now compared to pre 2015 models. Not jazzy, but no longer ugly looking dials and display unit.
Rubber beadings are there on the door now
Clutch is definitely on the light side
Doors auto lock when the speed picks up above 20 kmph
The touchscreen is not really sensitive, but passable and the music system seems better than the older version I'd TD'd.
Max Torque comes at 1750 rpm now, but couldn't make out any difference. For all practical purpose, hardly any turbo lag, pickup is good and felt even better than my petrol i20.
They have discontinued the rear ac vent on Rxz models as per the sales executive.
Did a hill station trip (Nelliyampathy) and most inclines, save 2, were done on second gear. There is a decent turbo kick felt on third gear and overtaking is confident on 2 lane roads.
ARAI mileage ratings have fallen to 19.87 from 20.5 earlier. Haven't tanked up yet, but display is showing 16.2 kmpl after 500 kms. Hopefully no noticeable difference in mileage.
I was looking out for Creta but its pricing was beyond reach and Renault was giving approx 80K discount.
