Fluidic is loosing it's charm (though I must say, it has a lot of road presence). NFF seems rather interesting, though it may have to do with it's very very rare sightings!!!

At the rate Ford is going, we just may have to start a thread called "I sighted a NFF"
he specifically said don't start a war about his comment. Just kidding of course, I have to agree I like the Fiesta's front and the Verna's rear and side profile.

Fluidic Verna is becoming quite common here in Chennai. I think Hyundai is doing a decent job of delivering close to 4,000 units a month and keeping customers at bay. Ford needs to get their act together with regards to their waiting period.

P.S. Please can someone expand NFS? I get NFF, but are you all making fun of the Fiesta's lack of power and calling it the New Ford Siesta? Kidding again, no offense to anyone who think the Fiesta is powerful.

Hehehe!
NFS: New Fiesta Sedan

This to allow for people's fond hope that there will be a NFH 'New Fiesta Hatch' at some point...

Though personally I think NFF is better!

New Ford Siesta !!!!!!!

So darn funny!

Thanks for the info Fusion2006. I too wondered about what NFS meant. NFF clearly sound better to me. Is how one may normally refer to the car (New Ford Fiesta).

Unlikely that, in India, they will call the hatch Ford Fiesta as well.

OT -

Initially when there were talks of the 120 bhp petrol mill in the new fiesta, NFS also stood for "Need For Speed"

It is a different story now though!

IMO AHNV looks good from all sides. That lip they gave on the boot makes it look sexy from rear, the lines on the sides give it that sleek look and from front it looks good too.

NFF also looks good from all angles, if you like babes with a wide base. But it looks smaller than ANHV and unfortunately I have seen more Renault Fluences on Hyderabad roads than NFF. Waittaminit. Have I seen even one NFF on road? Sadly no. Zilch. Nada. Whereas I drool over all those Vernas zipping around. AHNV looks awesome in white, it looks good in black, it looks sexy in dark maroon.

OT:

As I said earlier, one of my classmates is a top honcho in the marketing department of Ford. I also have another classmate who heads purchase dept in Ford factory at Chennai. I had some issues with Chevy when I was taking delivery of my Magnum and I called both these Industry guys for advise and after finishing my query about Chevy I was talking to my factory friend abt how Ford is miserably failing in delivery, advertising, pricing - basically on all fronts and his immediate sarcastic reaction (against his own company) was - "Yeah, we are Ford, we are like this only, we will never learn" and he asked me whether I conveyed the same message to my other friend who is in marketing.

Says a lot about the whole New Ford Fiesta story.

Hey NR mate, did you mean ON Topic when you said OT?

I think the subscribers of this thread would find that inside info about Ford very relevant. It gives some insight to how things are in Ford. Adds to the talk about the Sales chaps' level of motivation. When the employees of a company don't have pride in it, it is not at all a good sign.

The above makes me think if all the decisions are really getting taken by some foreigner guy, who isn't enough in touch with the reality of the Indian market.

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

IMO, each BHPian should write a mail to the MD of Ford India explaining him the current scenario and how well Ford has screwed up the new Fiesta right from pricing, interiors, lack of motivation and also give him a comparative price list of competition and features provided.

Hyundai has definitely upped the game and pushed the bar much higher. Ford has been left behind by more than a mile and there seems to be no signs of recovery.:-(

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Guys, I just saw a TV ad of the New Fiesta. This is the first time I have seen a fiesta TV ad. Looks like they have now got their act together and started advertising (finally). Infact, I saw the ad three times in 20mins. I think that now that they have started advertising it probably means their production issues are sorted out and over. However they still might have "diesel engine" production issues as they said earlier. As usual the car in the ad is in Kinetic Blue color. Seeing that color used in every ad angers me as it was my 1st choice but due to 'issues' with it I was forced to settle for Moondust Silver. Why advertise in blue if you cannot produce blue cars for 3 months?
Looks like Ford has finally woken up from sleep. However, I believe it is already too late to recover lost ground. Moreover the high price will not lure customers to the NFS.

Car and Bike show had ANHV, NFF & ANHC today and said that ANHV is on top with NFF behind by a whisker - mainly due to high price of the NFF.

I think thats a pretty fair comparison. It all boils down to one's requirements and budget.

Given there are issues with most cars in the segment, as there usually are, if the NFF can have a slightly more powerful engine (not only specs, but across the torque curve), it should lead to more acceptability. The much superior handling alone will appeal to a very small segment; especially at this price point.

And yes, that should not be at a significantly higher price.

Wonder if Ford is even acknowledging the situation and if it wants to do anything about it.

This car has potential, but only after some changes.
Though if a car opens badly, it a whole lot tougher to make it work later.

Only a massive price cut or a re-positioning can do such a trick. But Apart from pricing Indians dont take lightly 2 things
1) Interior quality
2) A.S.S
Look at Fiat.
And that is where Ford has messed up.

We don’t give a damn about handling, thud etc etc.

Agree on #1. Interior quality looks like an issue in the New Fiesta, especially from the comparison thread from StarChild. But I feel #2 is a bit of an overrated complaint. I personally never had any issue with the A.S&S of Ford.

I disagree with your second point about Ford's A.S.S. Many fellow Ford owners have informed me that they are satisfied with Ford A.S.S. Thus, I would not agree with you regarding Ford's A.S.S. Will be experiencing it shortly myself.

I am no Ford owner. But a close friend of mine has problems with high maintenance charges. For a 6 yrs old Ikon his annual maintenance is around 50K since the last 2 years.
The Ford workshops there are notorious for over-charging customers. The attitude of Ford A.S.S was also nothing to write home about.

Good for him he found an independent workshop and now he hardly visits the Ford authorised A.S.S. This may be a one off exception but there there is no denying the fact that there are several OEMs that offers much better A.S.S
1) Maruti
2) Hyundai
3) Toyota
4) Honda
5) Chevrolet
