Hi Sugeeta,
Good to hear from you. How is your Fiesta doing?
My car has clocked 86000 kms
1. No niggles so far (touch wood)
2. Average fuel efficiency is around 19 kmpl (18.92 kmpl to be exact)
3. Cruise control- i user it almost every day, but more often when I'm on the highway
4. Yes, during the first few months of ownership (reported in my ownership thread)
5. No glow plug issues till date (again, touch wood)
6. Incidentally, i changed to my third set of tyres today
- OE - Goodyear NCT5 -
- changed at 36,500 kms to Goodyear Eagle F1
- changed at 84,400 kms to Apollo Alnac 4G
The vehicle is running like new now. The Eagle F1 were too noisy, while the new set of Apollo Alnac 4G are very silent with no road noise at city speeds.
I'm going on a long drive tomorrow and will be able to judge the performance of these new shoes.
Cheersclap:
Bumping an old thread up.
How many petrol Fiestas did Ford actually sell? Is it in the order of thousands or hundreds?
Hi everyone.
Let me introduce you to my Ford Fiesta Titanium+ aka Blue Beauty. My father gifted me this car in 2011 after Tata Safari and I have done nearly 65k till now. There are a lot of things that I admire about this car -
- Looks - It's a head turner
- Dynamics - steering response and the way it handles and corners
- Rare Specie - I have only seen a handful in this color in the entire Northern India
- Quality - Everything in it feels upmarket and the build quality is great
I ran the car completely stock for nearly two years and then the devil in my mind took over. It was in December 2013 that I took the car to Delhi for upgrading my headlights and doing some more small scale mods despite my father's reprimand.:D
Here's what I loaded my BEAUTY with:
- Bi Xenon Projector Setup (Low beam)
- 8000k HID setup (high beam)
- LED Parking lights with integrated indicators
- Replaced all the small bulbs with LEDs
Now, I want to modify it further and have decide to go with blue-black theme for the entire car. Here's my to-do list:
- Color the rims black (or gun metal grey) or if there is an exchange offer, upsize to 16" or 17" rims. If I stick to the stock wheels, I might go for the spacers
- Get rid of all the chrome and cover it with a CF theme vinyl
- Paint the discs and drums in black/dark blue
- Change the plates to the similar blue-black theme
- Create a floating roofline - again CF vinyl on roof and ORVMs
- Exhaust upgrade (still thinking???)
So, my dear BHPians. Please suggest what I should/should not do.
Here are some of the pics.

Hi Sugeeta. I have not faced any big issue with the car as of now. The car gives me an average of 15 kmpl (and yeah, 90% of times, my racing genes are active :D).
And about cruise control, I am sure that I haven't used it more than ten times in four years.
Yes, I have replaced the steering column shaft once. Btw, how come did you ask this?
Yes, glow plug replaced by Ford motors
Replaced the tyres at 62k with MRF ZLOs
URGENT!! I own a 2008 Ford Fiesta (now classic) 1.4 diesel, and while cranking up the engine, the self sometimes misses. I mean when i try to start the car, I feel misfires between the cranks and then a complete miss. I have to try multiple times to start the car.
What can be the problem?
I have a road trip planned for the weekend, and have no time to get it checked or fixed. Will it survive the weekend so I can get it fixed when I get back on Monday.
Please help!!

I would suggest you check your batteries. Even though the battery indicator in the instrument cluster does not show anything, it is possible that one of the cell might be turning weak.

I had got the battery replaced 2 months back. Anyway, The car has stopped starting up and the starter motor rotates freely.
Will a push start work? the car is in the basement and a tow truck cannot reach it.
I am looking for an aftermarket armrest for my Ford Fiesta(2007 model).
So far I have come across options similar to these designs-
Design 1-
http://www.jazzmyride.com/armrests/s...utm_term=beige
Design 2-
http://www.jazzmyride.com/interior/a...term=usb_beige
So far I am leaning towards the first design as I have seen many members go for it and it feels like a safe choice.
However, the second armrest looks much better built and sturdy if a bit tacky in design. Does anyone here have some idea about the second type of design?
Also do the aftermarket armrests rattle after sometime? Are they sturdy enough so as to support the weight of the hand?
Any other designs/suggestions are welcome.
Hi AYP,
I have used the first design for more than an year in my Esteem and using the same one in a friend's Ertiga whose car I drive almost everyday. The quality is quite okay for that price. It could take the weight of an individual on a couple of occasions (My father has a habit of taking its support while getting our of the car). But the catch is I had fixed it without using the plastic mounts. A friend had used using the plastic mounts provided with the armrest and one of the mounts broke accidentally when someone was trying to take the support. The first one is cost effective as well. However I have owned Fiesta myself and the biggest drawback is that you lose on two cup/Bottle holders which are already not plenty in Fiesta. If you be careful while handling it it wont rattle.

Thanks for the reply.
I have very rarely used those cup-holders, so I guess it won't be much of an issue.
BTW, how did you fix the armrest without the mounts?

I used the holes those are there on the base of the armrest to attach it to the bracket to directly mount it in the car. So in short rather than fixing the bracket and then mounting the bracket in the car I just used the base as the brackets and fixed it onto the handbrake area.
Hey folks,
There are couple of 2011-2012 model Fiestas in the used market. I'm able to get a 2011 titanium model petrol +CNG run 35000km for 400000. And a diesel Titanium for 4.45lacs run for 37000km.
These are very lucrative prices. So now from your experience of owning the vehicle, do you think I should go for it. Is ASS like skoda for the new Fiesta? Any engine related major problems? Figo and old Fiesta had no ASS problems I recollect.
Our family drives a 2011 VW Vento base version and 2009 SX4. Looking to replace one of them.
Any help would be great. Thanks a ton.

If Fiesta & Figo don't have A$$ problem, why would Fiesta have? On the reliability front, there is a Fiesta on the forum which has done 1L+ kms; so it's damn reliable. This was never an issue even with the previous generation, though with a different engine.
There is a 2011 Dec titanium diesel in calicut, Keral. Asking price is 5.5 lakhs. Car has run 50k kms. No accidents. Did a test drive. Car has been maintained okay. Please advice on any specifics to be checked.
