I recently opted for MotoFyx Chembur to carry out the general service for my BMW E60. On the surface, the workshop seemed well-organized, and the service package appeared comprehensive at ₹20,999 (all-inclusive). However, the actual experience turned out to be quite underwhelming and disappointing, especially for the premium pricing they charge.
Initial Experience:
Booking and appointment were prompt, and they added me to a dedicated WhatsApp group for updates.
They shared a detailed service checklist (₹20,999 inclusive), covering oil change, filter cleaning, electrical inspection, AC inspection, door joint greasing, tyre rotation, service interval reset, etc.
I also provided them with a precise list of issues to inspect — gearbox oil, power steering leak, AC issue at idle, drive belt, coolant flush, etc. I appreciate that they took note of my points.
Service Execution & Communication:
They shared many photos and videos, mostly generic progress updates.
Critical checklist items like air filter cleaning, AC filter cleaning, mechanical inspection, AC inspection summary, door joint greasing, tyre dressing, and service interval reset were either not confirmed or marked as "underway" even at the time they requested final payment.
Payment of ₹20,999 was requested before confirming completion of these items, which is disappointing for a service claiming transparency.
Service interval reset, which should be a basic scanner job, was not confirmed as completed at the time of payment request.
Aggressive Upselling & Inflated Estimates:
Post-inspection, they shared a mechanical repair estimate of a whopping ₹3.98 lakh, while explicitly stating that all parts were aftermarket (not OEM). This included highly inflated pricing, such as:
Transmission oil replacement: ₹35,593
Brake pads: ~₹5,700
AC service dismantling alone: ₹16,000 (excluding parts or tax)
I declined these extra repairs as I found their pricing hugely inflated compared to independent specialists who use either OEM parts or premium aftermarket brands at reasonable costs.
AC Inspection Became a Forced Upsell:
Instead of providing a simple AC health check, they pushed for a full dismantling job to "diagnose" the issue, costing ₹16,000 + GST.
Further parts, if required, would be charged separately after dismantling the system. This felt like an upsell strategy rather than a genuine diagnostic approach.
Process Gaps & Payment Pressure:
Even at payment time, their message read: "All door joints greasing, tyre greasing and service reset work job is underway."
Service interval reset, door greasing, and tyre dressing were still not completed at billing time.
They rushed payment before completing these jobs, despite claiming “full transparency.”
Summary of Concerns:
Payment requested before confirming completion of services.
Incomplete updates and communication gaps.
Aggressive upselling, especially for the AC system and mechanical parts.
Inflated pricing for aftermarket parts.
Checklist points promised but not proven with photo or video evidence.
Conclusion:
While the team responds on WhatsApp and shares media files, the actual service experience does not justify the premium cost. Their upselling tactics, rushed payment requests, and incomplete transparency on services rendered were disappointing.
I strongly recommend anyone considering MotoFyx for premium cars to
cross-check pricing and service inclusions very carefully. You will likely get better, more transparent work from reputed independent garages or specialists.
