I have a 2007 Chevrolet Spark which I bought in 2011. Sometime back I noticed that the AC wasn't cooling efficiently and then after some days it stopped cooling at cool. I didn't want to take the car to the Chevrolet A.S.S and hence I took it to my FNG (Friendly Neighborhood Garage) who concluded that the AC gas had completely leaked. Since this garage doesn't repair or service AC's, my mechanic directed me to Correa Car Cool at Malad.

Located at Link Road, Malad (W) a bit ahead of Modi Hyundai and slightly before Lakozy Toyota.

I reached the garage at 1 pm and it was filled with cars from all makes like Skoda, BMW, Maruti, etc. The guy quickly noted down my details and quoted Rs. 2,300 for AC gas refill and service. He said he would call me if there is any other work to be done. Got a call in a couple of hours and he said that the cooling coil needs replacement and it would cost me an additional Rs. 6,800. I told him not to change it now and I'll come to collect the car. Was charged Rs. 500 for labour and got a bill for the same. I was promised that whenever I get the work done from them next, they would deduct 500 from the bill.

I showed my car to a couple of other garages and all of them stated that the coil needs replacement. So I finally decided to get it replaced from Correa only.

Dropped in after a few days and gave my car at 1.30 pm. Even though I went without calling them and there were many other cars, my car was attended to quickly and the work was completed in around 3-4 hours.

All stuff related to car AC's like gas refill, service, part replacements, etc.

What I like:

Great quality of work. My Spark's AC is a chiller now. When I was about to leave, the main person over there actually came and checked whether the battery terminals and other stuff were connected properly.

Quick! My car was ready in 3-4 hours and I reached there at their closing time and they had almost shut the garage and parked my car properly outside the entrance.

I found them pretty straight forward to talk to.

6 months warranty on the new part and 3 months for the gas.

Space for keeping cars inside is pretty decent.

What I don't like:

Slightly expensive. They quoted Rs. 2300 for AC gas refill and service whereas other garages were quoting anything from 1200-1800 for the same. But I didn't mind paying slightly extra for good quality work. They have this white CCC sticker where two C's are closed in one big C and I have seen that particular sticker on many many cars from almost all brands and hence felt their customer base is pretty huge.

I had a pretty bad experience with them. My office is right next building so follow up was never an issue

I gave my petra for routine ac service and it was done in a day. Free gas charging if anything wrong with ac in next 3 months

Within few weeks ac stops cooling and according to them culprit is cooling coil. Got it replaced and then again in 2 weeks ac stops cooling.

again I take the car to them but not immediately as my grand mother was in hospital. It was diagnosed as a leaking hose pipe and it was replaced and gas charged. But this time I had to pay for gas charging as it was more then 3 months

To my horror, ac stopped cooling in few weeks again. This time I was really busy with work and could not attend to the ac issue for next 6 months

When I gave my car for brake overhaul to a garage in kandivali who specializes in fiats (same garage who share space with kawa motors godown) , I also told them to check the ac

It was found that the rubber sealants and o rings in compressor had gone bad and ac gas leak was happening from there. This happened due to the fact that my car in the past was not used for weeks and that lead to untimely wear. According to them ac needs to switched on atleast once a week so sealants and o rings get lubrication and don't get hard and crack

Since the leak was small , ac worked for few weeks as my running is less.

So basically I was made to change the cooling coil by correa when it was not even the culprit. I always thought they were ac specialists


My friend too had a bad experience with them but at their another branch. His Civic's cooling coil had gone bad. Since he needed car in hurry he asked them to change the coil but hearing the price, he thought of sourcing it for them

After providing the coil to them , within an hour he gets a call that the coil provided by him also has a leak. By the time he went to check he was also told to take car from their workshop as they did not have parking space.

Can you ever imagine a garage where you are getting work done telling you to take away your car. My friend was pissed and took the car and did not bother to check the coil as it was dark.

Next day morning when he examined it, he found that they had actually broken the coil while installing it. He was lucky that the dealer accepted back the coil in good faith as he always procures spares for his civic from him

This was very unprofessional behaviour by Correa and I suggested my friend to take the car to unicool.

He got the work done in 2 hours flat, at a very less price then quoted by Correa Cool

Its almost two months and his car ac is working as it was when new
