I have a "chow chow bath" of parts for brakes. Except the caliper and rotor, I have swapped out all parts with other bike ones. Master Cylinder from a pulsar 180, brake lever from Avenger, hose from a Pulsar 220 and EBC HH brake pads.
Can i get the Chow chow bath?!

I am looking at change from the master cylinder to the braided hose. Rest is good.

The disc plate has lot of concentric circles though.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma Ownership Experience

Forgot to mention that I noticed yesterday that the accelerator's cable is coming out from the its protection cover (black color) from the place it is being attached to the accelerator handle. The mechanic told me that I need to get them replaced. I deferred the replacement as he did not have the original Hero accelerator cables.

Should I procure genuine spare part from Hero or go for any after market replacement?

With these costs, I feel it is best to stick to OEM ones.
  • Accelerator cable A - Rs 82;
  • Accelerator cable B - Rs 89.

Replace them and do change both at a time.

Chow chow bath recepie is mentioned in my previous post Its upto you to prepare and use it hehe.

If the rotor aka disc plate has concentric circles, feel it with fingernails. If it gets caught, then change the rotor, else keep it.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma Ownership Experience

Guys, Need a small help. Can anyone recommend a good bike cover for Karizma which covers it completely.

Please if you can share the shop in Delhi/Gurgaon or share an online link that will be really helpful.
There are too many bad covers available online these days that it is difficult to find the right one.

Regards
Rachit

I removed the B cable long back and rode it only the A cable for close to a year before I sold the bike for an enfield.I felt the throttle response better.

@Rachit- You can buy the cover of a bullet. It will cover the entire motorcycle.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma Ownership Experience

I started the bike after 15-17 days. I saw that the kicker is going down freely for the first 6-8 kicks(the battery's dead). The bike did start and is normal after it is up to temperature.

i checked the plugs too. the ceramic part is normal however the threads are oily. Is the head gasket gone? or do i need to get the valves replaced?

Looks like the engine had lost compression, can be that one of the valves got stuck.

Hey Rachit,

I too was in the same state of mind when searching for the bike cover fitting the Karizma.

I ordered this one fro SnapDeal and it is good. Waterproof too.

Bike Cover

Costed me 220 and comes in the same colour as the picture displayed with slots for RVM's. I do recommend it.

Even I am planning to buy a good cover for my bike in few days. I would like to know if this cover is of correct fitting and any other website other than snapdeal where I can buy it?

In local market, the bike accessories shop guys are selling covers at price of Rs. 300-350.

Edit - in the above link - when i click buy, it asks for the bike make & model but Hero/Karizma is not showing up in the list!

Yes, looks like the cover is out of stock!

Here is a picture of my Karizma under the cover!

The bike is dry and neat after a rain spell. Only issue is the locking clips don not meet ends. Rest all is fully covered without any problem.

Is the cover out of stock for Karizma model or entire Hero Honda lineup? I am unable to see 'Hero' or 'Hero Honda' in the manufacturer selection options.

Was it appearing when you bought the cover?

The cover looks good. You can fix the cover using clips to make sure it remains in place during windy days.

When I bought, it was showing in the menu as Hero Karizma.

Check this out on Flipkart!

I am planning to order this one from flipkart. It is priced too low and seems to be made for karizma as well.

EDIT - the same one as flipkart

I'd suggest you to look into Paytm also. They have some good range for Karizma and also some offers I guess.
