We stay in India and what matters is how they're priced here and that's the bottom line.
It would have been a different scenario had the Ninja been locally manufactured or CBR being imported. Extra cylinder alone won't justify the 1.4 lakhs or so premium. Any knowledgeable person will accept the fact.

You're absolutely right. Although the extra-cylinder does make a difference, it can't justify the 1 lakh premium that you pay for the Ninja. Had the CBR been imported, it wouldn't have done so well, especially considering that the closest options to the CBR would be the 'Zma, the 220 and of course, KTM's upcoming 200.

In fact, even at the current price, people say that the CBR is 10-20k more than what it should be. The Ninja 250, although probably the best sports bike in India, is still quite expensive and purely in context to the price-tag, it isn't particularly VFM.

There are some cars in the market just like that too. Expensive, but somehow, once you buy it, it doesn't matter anymore because now, you have it. They aren't VFM by any stretch of imagination, but they have that ability to lure you with their charm. I don't think the CBR would have been able to do that, at say, 2.5-3 lakhs.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

The biggest problem with CBR250R is that, it does not "feel" premium. Forget Ninja 250R, Yamaha R15 feels better built and premium bike, when put next to CBR250R.

Other than that, CBR250R is absolute "bang for buck" for what it offers at that price. There is so much to go for that bike, not to forget that it is coming from the "H"allowed brand.

Where are the rear indicators? And why does that area appear hazy as if PS'ed?

Its a looker though

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Hello everyone, I own a 2012 CBR250R (ABS). The bike has done about 50xxkms so far. Few things I've noticed so far is that the radiator fins, which seem to bend very easily and the side stand not giving firm support. While I use small tongs to fix the bent fins, the side stand gives me no confidence while parking. The bike sits on the paddock all the time at home. Has anyone figured out a solution for the clumsy side stand? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

I am planning to buy a CBR250R (white colour) soon. I have gone through this thread and read the reports of inconsistent quality and rusting, non availability of parts etc. However, many of those are from 2011, is this still an issue today or has Honda got over these teething issues?

I own a 2012 model. I haven't faced any quality issues so far, most I've heard are engine paint chipping etc. Parts are easily available. The only issue I had was a cracked rear tyre but got it replaced under warranty.
