Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Today, I dropped in at a Honda showroom, and they (finally!) had a (Black) CBR250R on display.

I just stood gazing at her for 20 minutes, she was so lovely...

During that time, I must admit some wild, wild, thoughts entered my mind, but then I snapped back to reality. I have my TBTS, and am never going to give her up! (I rode her today for 130 km of pure joy-riding--- thanks to the Telangana bandh!)

That said, I still would not have minded a quick romp, but the manager was firm --- NO TEST RIDES!

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Got delivery of Black CBR (non ABS).

Went for a 30 km ride just after delivery, love the bike. Keeping it below 5000 rpm. Need to study the owners manual thoroughly.

Took 3 years extended warranty for Rs. 1200.

Honda is selling road side assistance from an external vendor. For Rs.280, 3 support visits in a year (24x7) are free - covers puncture and towing to showroom with some extra charges. I think the charge for puncture fixing is Rs.50 extra within the free visit.. It is a new initiative which is only 1 week old.

Congratulations Sir!!!

You will start loving her more with the passing miles. As you keep piling up the kms, please make sure you click some good pictures and ownership experience. You can hijack my or Rk_Sans ownership threads to avoid any important bike related queries/issues being lost in different threads.

Happy riding Mate.

Dream Honda, whitefield. I booked it on April 27, booking number was 18. The estimated waiting period was 2 months, got the bike today.

Hearty Congratulations Mate

She is a beauty on the road, turns heads like nobody's business. I have clocked only 100 kms since delivery last week but the feel is just awesome.

Make sure u keep her under wraps (Bullet cover - Rs.220) when parked in the building, as thats the only menace I have faced. Kids want to sit on it and because of the side stand, it inevitably falls on the side (happened twice till now)

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Pashankar Auto on JM Road Pune delivered my friends bike in 2 months flat. Seems the supply from Honda factory has got regularised.

(Booked 6th May 2011 (full payment), Delivered 6th June 2011 (Extended warranty to be taken at first service))

Small glitch: The PDI was done when the dealer let us knew that the bike has arrived. The bike was scratchless and absolute beauty in the RED+Silver combi. When my friend went to take the delivery he realised the tank was not of the same color as the honda red as seen earlier. It had some deformity and the color was not matching otherwise at all. He raised the alarm and guess what, they readily agreed to change the tank with other bike that was there. Then they also home delivered it as he could not wait till the time the change was done.

Alls well that ends well. Please take care guys, we need to have a keen eye for PDI and delivery time inspections as well.

Dont know what poor soul would land up with that deformed/non-matching color CBR from that showroom now.

The fit and finish is world class. Many of the components fitted are imported.
The rear view mirrors have aerodynamic contours, but the plastic quality could have been more chic for a bike of this kind. These are however only a notch above the Activa or the Unicorn.
The fairings all over the front portion are a must, given the kinda competition, but as I had earlier said with the Yamaha R 15 fairings, a fall and you are poorer by Rs "n" K, directly proportional to the gravity of the fall ! This is Bharat and even a stray dog (on a mating spree?), poultry or cattle can trigger a fall, leave the men and women on roads apart!
Falls and pessimism apart, its back to the looks again.
The bulbous petrol tank is not in sync with the body line. It looks pregnant! Its good fuel capacity is OK, but the design can be a bit congruent!
The silencer emerges from the tail pipe end coolly, but ends up in an out of proportion shape.
The thing that caught my attention the most is the saree guard. This is necessary again, but its design is a total mismatch for the bike.
And the bike has no chain guard like the Bullet, R15 ,the mightier Pulsars and other muscle bikes.
The tail light, rear mudguard end and indicators were perhaps designed by different people who just met at the fag end and pasted all their designs for the CBR250R to come alive!
The petrol tank and the pillion seat show us the heights achieved by this bike.
But overall a value for money bike I can vow!

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

R15, Pulsar 220F and Ninja don't have chain guards, they have O-ring sealed chains.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Hey Guys,

If one removes the Saree guard can the open chain pose a risk for the In-experienced pillion rider? I ask because the foot-peg is placed too close to the chain and in a situation of dis-balance I feel that one can seriously get hurt.

Is it just me or someone has noticed that?
