@ Akshay: Confirmed from very well connected showroom resources in Pune (Sterling and Pashankar) - delivery waiting period is 6 months. Honda are themselves tracking the whole thing for the baby CBR.

About the finances, dealers have their offers, not heard of Honda giving any. Will confirm when I go to Pashankar on the weekend to book for a friend

Planet Honda showroom is also offering exchange your old bike scheme for CBR250R, I spoke to one of the sales person and asked them if they have any exchange offers and they said "yes".

Just get your old bike evaluated from the showroom and the offered amount on the old bike will be compensated with the new bike.

Aditya Honda at Vasai (just outside the northwest tip of Mumbai) has said that there's a tie-up with HDFC but there's no special scheme that they usually have. I'm inclined to believe that HDFC is pushing finance for this bike because I was talking to a rep regarding another bike and he simply upped and pitched it - which was extremely surprising since he's an ex-Bajaj employee!

I am sorry, for I wrote experienced instead of inexperienced. Please note that I mean that an inexperienced guy would not be is a position to maintain the bike's plastics in long term.

I hope I have now cleared your doubt.

There is an alternate way of jumping the queue, if you want the bike early (as I was told, since I intend the bike in hard cash), you can get the same in place of a guy who has booked the bike, & is arranging the remaining payments through financing (I believe it is HDFC only that is in at present), but, could not get the loan approved from Bank. Hence, the bike is not sold to that person, & here you come in picture.

Try out you luck ... you can get the bike early.

When did he book? Which dealer? What was the booking sequence number? ABS or non ABS?

How is the riding experience ?

Hey congrats to your friend , did he happen to ride along the Palm beach rd last evening, i saw a silver CBR and was wondering if the deliveries have commenced. A couple of my friends have booked the CBR and the dealers at Vashi have no clues regarding the timelines.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

I checked out the CBR250 in person last evening. Initial impressions are good! The bike seems eager when revved.
The plastics are a bit of a let down, but nowhere close to being deal breakers. The plastic panel next to the rear cowl was probably the flimsiest part on the bike.

It sounds bad. Period.
People expecting a racy note should prepare to splurge on an after-market can.

Might test drive it today. Will post more then.

Cheers!

The bike looks nice in silver/grey. However I m not liking the rear part (tail lamp and mud guard). Looks like it has been stolen from HUNK (or is it the other way round?).
The saree guard looks like so out of place and useless as well. C'mon, Who would(or could) wear a sareee and sit on that bike?

^^ The sari guard is for the pillion rider and quite a few sari clad ladies may ride pillion! Any way it is a statutory requirement for registration, you may get rid of it afterward if you don't like it.

Test ride is available in Dream Honda, Whitefield, Bangalore, for those who have booked the bike there.

. But what I meant was, how can any lady wearing a saree sit side-ways on this bike, since the pillion seat is soooo high.

Not questioning the the rule of law, just highlighting something that doesnt serve the purpose.

Cheers...
