True, we can hit those speeds only for short intervals.

I know I might get brickbats for this, but does it sound good? The Youtube videos don't real score well on SQ.
No.

For your query, suggest you watching this

Believe me, its pretty safe to do the same speeds ( Equally in a Car & M'cycle)

There are loads of escape routes in a M'cycle compared to a Car. For sure there are no crumple zones or air-bags (its coming BTW). You shall feel safe 7 secure with ATGATT

I am not recommending or suggesting speeding where roads aren't deemed fit.

Its your conscience & 6th sense which guides where to be cautious and go down the 'box or whack it up open.

@mb_jg - And the high you get for those precious few seconds in *PRICE-LESS*

@Sheel

I remember readin a thread by nik---? (the guy who owns the awesome cafe in Pune) and his new FZ-1. He was talking about high temperatures at speeds <90.

How do you plan to cope with that?

Essyouwe. It is pretty much controllable. The heat is not excessive. The numbers might seem too much. The heat sometimes is a lot.But one big blast of acceleration and everything is gone. The fun overshadows everything else.

ATGATT will save some skin and provide some cushioning when bouncing along the road, apart from that it does nothing. Your bones can still break and death is still very much a possible outcome. Relying heavily on ATGATT can lead to making bad decisions imo. Rely on good risk calculation and your developed rider skills more than ATGATT

Thanks for bringing it up.
WOW great video! 0-100 in hardly 7sec & 0 -150 in 20 sec and top speed of 170 (in the video).
Amazing performance for 1.5 lakh. Even a RD350 costs almost as much.

What is CO FI box? Is the bike stock? You guys did mention something at 1:13 in the video. Couldnt make out anything

Please clarify.

Has anyone on this forum managed to OWN a CBR250R yet? or is all the talk with the videos/info from the internet & test drive?

+1. Dress for a crash. But never ride over the limits of personal skill and the limits of the surroundings just because you are geared up completely.

Dont let the gear make you feel invincible.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Tyre, break calliper and disc looks big at-least compared to others 225 range bikes, i think its going to be big hit on Indian roads and proper upgrade from 150-225 range.

There are few things which money can't buy (skills), for everything else there is MasterCard (Alpine Stars/ Arai)

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

No offence but this 250 is proper upgrade as still Indian riding scene is not matured enough to opt for even 250 twin or anything above that, Ninja sales figure says that.
Still we want a 4 cylinder 400-600 cc SBK under 2-3 L which is not at all possible and I think Honda did their research and survey of Indian market properly and launched the most suited bike for India.
Rode CB400 super four perfect for Indian but how many of us are ready to pay it's cost?
BTW Honda imported at-least 35-40 pieces of Honda BC400 Super four but purely for SBK riding training purpose.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

You have answered your own question. Due to obscene & unreasonable amount of duties, one can't really up-grade.

Say what would you upgrade to after riding a Karizma if there were no duties & bikes available?

But then its not the scene.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Got my STD version RED Color CBR250R booked yesterday at Kandivli W showroom in Mumbai.

On Road price: 1,65,000
Booking Amount: 5,000
Waiting period: 2 months

The showroom in Mumbai still does not have any details on financing aspect, the Rep mentioned that once I get a call regarding my allotment, thats the time they will provide me with finance option - God knows when the allotment will finally coem through. Overall extremely unprofessional staff, lets see how my experience is going forward.

Re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Used BMW F650 is on the way few formalities are pending and after that next is VF500F Interceptor(known as stock RZ350 eater) which again falls under 400-600 cc class, and its not available from Honda now even outside India, sourcing the bike locally as still old skool bikes fascinates me.
@Vizz even my friend booked from same showroom and they promised him 50 days for delivery fingers crossed.
