In the context of a easy weekend ride, this is what I do - get to the highway. If someone stops you from getting on ask them for alternate route. Take that route.
Of course this won't work if you need to get somewhere on schedule.

Alternatively, try the two wheeler option on Google maps' directions. I guess it will factor in routes where bikes are not permitted.

After a long pause I restarted my bike rides this year and already did couple of solo rides in my new Himalayan. Now I am willing to join small group rides also. Please share if any such rides are planned.

Around a month back, I did a solo breakfast ride to Horsley hills (round trip of ~ 300kms) on a Saturday morning. I always prefer Saturdays for solo rides because, unlike Sundays, the breakfast places, the view points and the final destinations are generally not overly crowded on Saturdays and you can enjoy at your own pace.

I started around 6.30am from Yelahanka. The weather was perfect for riding - overcast conditions with no rain forecast. I was carrying my rain gear just in case. Roads till Horsley hills are mostly good with couple of diversions and some broken patches.







Found a small trail on the way - which led to this lake.



After paying Rs. 20 toll at the base of the hills, I started my ascend to the Horsley hills viewpoint. Gulmohar trees literally laid out the red carpet for my red NX500.



I reached the viewpoint around 10am and since there were only 3-4 people around, I was able to spend some quality time enjoying the cool breeze and the panoramic views.



The return journey was uneventful - one coffee and fuel break - and I was back home by 1.30pm.

We managed squeeze in couple of breakfast rides too in between. All in all, it has been a very productive riding year managing to cross ~10000kms on our bikes and not to forget - some great friends in the process.
