Both places looks awesome and lot more peaceful. Let’s plan something for next week.

Yes it was very peaceful and I was the only one there yesterday.

And today also one more peaceful place got discovered: "Palar River Weir" https://goo.gl/maps/xFDMgDVaZ88mYk159

Again we were the only ones who were present there today.

Here are some pics:

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Hi Bhpians,

So, I have restarted riding after a hiatus of over 11 years and within 10 days of purchasing my new bike (Honda H'ness 350), I have clocked ~1000kms. Some of the places I have visited so far:

1. Dandiganahalli Dam

Nice clean lake with a perfect backdrop

2. Machanabele Dam view point

3. Mallapakonda

Thoroughly enjoying my rekindled love for riding. Hope to join fellow Bhpians in upcoming rides and explore more places.

Cheers!

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Hi All,

I rode to DD hills this weekend. Started from Yelahanka at 5.45am and reached DD hills ~7.30am.

It was pretty overcast initially.

However, by 7.45am, the sun started to emerge from the clouds.

Took a small detour and visited Shree Gudde Anjaneya Statue. The statue is visible from the road but the path leading to it is a bit confusing. Quick check with a local solved the problem.

Right opposite to the statue is a waterbody (Irakasandra Tank as per Google maps).

Sumptuous breakfast at Udupi Grand Veg Dabaspet followed by some spirited driving and we were back home by 11am.

Let me know if any ride happening tomorrow/next weekend.

Cheers!

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

So, this morning I went to Sabbanhalli/Vatadahosahalli Lake. Took NH44 from Yelahanka and returned via Gauribidanur - Doddaballapura route. Barring some 100 mtr stretch before the lake that is under maintenance, rest of the route is flawless. There were only a couple of other bikers and a picnicking family. My last visit to this place was in Sep'21 and I found the lakeside and the water a lot cleaner this time around.

Wow, @night_eagle, those are some cool solo-ride goals. I bought a CB350 H'ness little over a month back, and did few run-of-the-mill solo rides, just to try to inch closer to the 1K mark on odo before first service. I too got back to motorbikes after a similar hiatus (perhaps slightly longer), but I'd prefer to think that I took to the bike like fish takes to water and absolutely enjoying the bike. Looking for fellow riders to join for some breakfast rides or such like. Ones that I found didn't quite appeal to me -- too large, too much fanfare, too young for my taste, exclusive to bike brand etc.

@bdutta, thanks for the message. H'ness is indeed a gem of a machine. My father, who is 65 yr old, rode my motorcycle yesterday and he was thoroughly impressed by its weight distribution, refinement, gear shifting and stability.
I have also been looking for some like-minded people and am more than happy to have some company for the weekend breakfast rides. Since I am a newbie on TBhp, I can't PM you so pls. share your contact details over a PM or an email (akshay3107@gmail.com) and we can coordinate in detail.

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Last month, my buddies and I had planned to ride to Mirjan Fort and Mangalore.

We were heading to Davangere for breakfast when I spotted a milestone that read - Goa 267 kms or something like this.

While we were gorging on dosa's at Davangere, I casually suggested we head to Goa instead. And we were off to Goa

Last year, I did the same stretch - Bangalore - Candolim Beach on my buddy ku69rd's xPulse 200. This time too, he was kind to oblige my request to change the destination. I was looking forward to riding to Goa on my Bonnie and what a ride it was. Totally enjoyed it.

Here are a couple of pics.

Surely want to join some Sunday rides with you and listen to your experience with your new ride! Let's plan to explore some trails in the outskirts whenever few of us can make it.

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Penukonda fort on top of a hill in Penukonda is a good ride on the Blore Hyderabad highway. Just that the place has become famous with Bangaloreans and surely will be crowded on a Sunday.
The climb to the hill top and the view from there is the highlight. There is a Korean restaurant at the junction where the road cuts off from the main highway, which was crowded as well when I went last Saturday. From Hebbal flyover, it is around 140 kms one way. It can be done via Yelahanka -Makali-Hindupura- Kodikonda -Penukonda as well which are good roads.
