I fixed a new split seat on my bike.
Its very comfortable and the front seat quite broad as well.

The cats in my buildings cellar parking have taken a fancy for it.

The front seat got scratched. I changed the parking spot and decided to leave the bike on its side stand.

Now the rear seat got scratched.

Need help. How do I save my seats.

A full body cover for the bike is not an option.
I have no place to leave it, when I take my bike out.
Leaving the cover at home when not on the bike is not an option.
My flat is seventh floor and the parking is in the cellar.
I will waste to much time in the up down elevator trips.

Sprinkle eucalptus or clove Oil around the the seats. Cats dont like these smells.

you can try keeping an obstacle like log or something; the thickness like the logs used in residential building's scaffolding (when painting etc) and length as per your bike's seats length.

I had the same problem,
Put a wet jute sack on the seat, after a few weeks the cat must have changed her base.
Repeat every time you see scratches

It doesnt have to be on the seat.

He can keep some cotton dabbed with the oil below the seat or somewhere close to ht seat.

It worked when a cat made the wheel well of our car its bedroom for the cold nights.

How about a temporary rexine cover, that you could remove before you ride the bike?Something that can take the beating, and yet be stored away easily.

same problem over hear.
cat has scratched the front portion of my seat
and somehow she knows at what time i come and go
on weekdays i leave for work at 6:30am so i dont find her sitting on the seat..
whereas on sundays its a holiday i wake up at 9am to find her dozin comfortably on it..

two thick packets covering the seat should do it. When you are taking out the bike, just shove the packets somewhere in the building itself or as spitfire said.. put clove oil on the packet .. so your bum wont smell. this would also refrain from people sitting on your ride.

I bought a bottle of eucalyptus oil. It costs about a hundred bucks for 100 ml bottle.

Parked my bike in the cellar. Sprinkled a bit on the bike seat. Then the cap fell off. Half the contents on my bike.

I guess I will not be using the bike for a day or two now.

And you might not have to worry about cats ( or even humans) coming close to your bike for a while now.Just kidding.. I guess this should do the trick.If the oil doesn't keep the cats aways, time to get something rugged to cover the seat.

Two nights later, a nice coating of dust on the seat. It remained untouched. Never have I felt so happy seeing dust on the bike.

Anyways also picked up a jute bag. Cost about 15 bucks. Will use this as a cover on the bike after shredding it a bit. This will keep the bad safe from humans in the parking lot.

Rats chew up wiring. You get a cat and it tears up you seat. PhEW!
