Prices has been raised by 4% ex showroom across all variants, this will then further increase the RC and insurance too, that news will get official in a day or two once the January 2012 stock will reach the brand stores and dealerships.

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

Can anyone please tell me if some anti-theft system is available for the C5? Does it's installation void the warranty?

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

I went to the Brand store yesterday to inquire about the status of the bike and they told me that Desert storm will be available around 13 -14 january, but then there was a recent shipment of bikes available which has 2012 Classic 350,

they told me that RE has only manufactured CL350 in 2012 and is available but CL500 are in the process and will reach by 13 -14 Jan, so we can get CL350 of 2012 at older prices but CL500 will come with new price tag lines, my BAD

anyway, my friend had also booked one maroon CL350, i have asked RE guy to hold one for him, i helped his pocket not to shell that extra 5k

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

Got an Update from the RE that the service station uses Motul Mobile oils for all motorcycle, is it true? they told us that this practice is followed all across india, i was under the feeling that RE uses Penzol as standard mobile oil and that is why always bought the Castrol mobile from after market, if it is true then it is a real welcome move from RE

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

Back from a trip to Goa on the C5 with my wife. Rode to and fro Goa. Absolutely hassle free, except for the vibrations and the pain in the rear end. Even though I got the seat changed to the older one, there's no improvement. Will post pictures soon..

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

just came from auto expo. forgot my camera.
But some nice changes from Royal enfield for new TB500.
a new swing arm. rear disc brakes, low tank position, new headlamps, new footpeg set up with disc brakes lever.
new exhausts
New bodycolored crash guard for DS. And some exotic saddlebags.
Some really morons were managing the stage. When I asked about the new swing arm as to whether the length has been altered , they kept on repeating, this is a totally new bike sir, nothing original.
At least RE should have some really knowledgeable people.

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

@ArizonaJim-As you must be knowing that RE has launched the new Thunderbird. RE is saying that they have upgraded the swing arm design to some oval swing arm in the new Thunderbird. Do you think that this new swing arm can be used the C5? Is the frame same across all 500's? Does the Electra Efi, Electra Deluxe and Bullet 500 UCE have high speed instability issues? If no, then what is the reason? What advantage does the thicker 41mm front fork in new Thunderbird has over the 35mm front fork in the C5? Do we need it on our C5's? I am a newbie and my queries might be bugging. Please take your time in answering them.

Yes they use Motul 15W50 Oil,usually supplied to dealers in big drums.

Re: The Royal Enfield 500 Classic thread!

OT: If sourced from proper channels. 1 litre packs of that Motul oil is still cheap than what you get from that drum from dealerships.

speaking from personal experience for motul for my car.

Exhaust Tip - Eye Candy or Functional Add-on?

Hi All,

Saw This Pic on the Desert Storm Thread some time ago.

Can anyone clarify whether the strange addition to the Exhaust has any practical function or if it is just eye candy.

I like that it suits the Desert Storm perfectly

Forgive me but I am totally in the dark along with the rest of you people when it comes to the new UCE Thunderbird and any interchangeability of its new parts with any of the other Royal Enfields.

Likewise, I cannot really comment on the stability of the Electra series of motorcycles more than to say that I've been told my G5 sold in the USA uses the same frame and suspension.
Royal Enfield Bullet G5 Deluxe - A Premium Vintage-Inspired Motorcycle with Electronic Fuel Injection

My G5 Deluxe is totally stable cruising down the road at 120 kmph (75mph) even with cross winds. (It does have a vibration buzz, noticeable in the foot pegs at speeds of 104 kmph (65 mph) and above).

Sorry I can't be more helpful with the answers to your question.
