A friend of mine got a test ride of the new "Pulsar", it's 135cc - 14BHP and he said it's better than P150

Now let's wait and watch if that's correct!

having owned a discover 135 ES for a year and a half i can confidently say the the new breed of sub 150cc bajaj bikes are losing their charm. they go to great lengths just to sell bikes. the plastic quality on the discover 100cc recently launched is horrible! the kick start just swings around while the the one on mine is firm and stays in position (im referring to its normal positioning and not related to kick starting) the speedo looks like a a cheap sticker! its all going wrong! they look good but only from a distance. on closer examination the flaws are obvious. i dont expect a masterpiece at 55k but the quality has definitely declined. why dont they introduce a new bike alltogether. i would love to see bajaj not living on the name of only pulsar or discover.

Bajaj bikes lost its charm!! especially the pulsar ranges. I think they are making a mistake by naming the new bike 'Pulsar'.

Styling Okay. Only for Bachelors. Saree Clad Women will have tough time to climb on the pillon seat. Clip handle bar has a werid design. Any information on spec. I don't like the rear design.

1) Very very poor styling. I was expecting a good 150 or 200cc bike with better styling and a well proportioned bike. This is exactly opposite of what I had expected. The styling is bad and bike looks very disproportional.

2) Bajaj needs a new 150cc rather than 135cc bike that looks puny bike in the first place. If this continues, the image of pulsar range will come down fast. Bajaj is gunning for numbers but in the long run Bajaj will realize what damage this can do to Pulsar range and overall sales.

I just dont get it! I totally love my 180 DTSi. Even with the R15s, 220s, 200s, FZs and ZMRs around, i was in love with and felt proud about my bike. 2 1/2 years after i bought the bike.

But I guess i will never buy a Bajaj product again after seeing this!

Some people might argue that I should never have bought a Pulsar for esclusivity! This is not about exclusivity, this is about killing the value of a brand, and goodwill of existing owners!

Thinking from a different angle- Bajaj might want to introduce a new lot of premium bikes above the Pulsar range! Keeping Discover brand name for commutter segment, Pulsar brandname for exexutive segment.

am sure they could have done a better job. i dont think the new pulsar stands a chance with so many better looking bikes in the market as of now.

Even if its thought so, the styling of the P135 is no where near the executive segment according to me. They could have done a much better job on the styling at least even if they wanted to keep the engine CC at 135 only. Looking at the P135, the XCD 135 suddenly looks a very proportional and good looking bike. Not that it was not before. But the comparison is quite evident and the XCD beats the P135 hands down.

Pulsar is the flagship brand of Bajaj. There is a lot of head room for Pulsar brand to grow, i.e Bajaj can keep going the route they have been going this long and create P400, P600 and ultimately litre class P1000. This would have enhanced the cult following of Pulsar and it will remain an aspirational brand.
And if P220 is anything to go by, Bajaj with its ingenuity can deliver , lets say a P1000 ,with 150 bhp at less then Rs 3L . That would have shocked the super bike world. I know the Bajaj super bike will have all sorts of issues ,but hey bikers are always finding an excuse to work on their rides.
Instead what has Bajaj done, create something that looks like a Pulsar with a polio attack with the super small exuast and has brought about a lot of shame to Pulsar owners.

@sinner - its a simple Mud/splash Guard

I agree with most here, they should restrict the pulsar brand to the 150cc at the lower level. This Bike should be put in either Discover or XCD brand.
