I have a question about used bikes on classifieds sites. I see some Duke 390s for Rs.70K, 2017 model etc. With 10K or 12K miles.
Is it normal that 2 years and 10K/12K mile bikes lose 75% of their value? Or is it something fishy (like accident bike)?

I would be very careful with such dukes.Mostly they have had a bad accident and repaired which is quite possible as the duke 390 is quite a bike in hands of novice riders.Paying more and getting a clean bike is any day better then buying cheap only to realize it has been repaired from a major accident.

Its best if you can get the bike checked properly with a trust worthy mechanic from the service centre by paying some money.

Online classifieds is an area where you have to tread very carefully. You'll find a lot of ads to be fake as putting up a listing is free. Half of the sellers back out at the last moment even after agreeing to a price (happened with me twice) and again, a good number of sellers do not disclose true facts of the motorcycle.

A 2 year old Duke 390 for Rs. 70k looks like a steal. Either the seller would have crashed it really bad, or it could be a second/third owner bike, or it could have a rigged odometer, or a pending loan on it, or would be in need of immediate repairs (KTM parts wear out fast). Still, Rs. 70k sounds too low. I have seen some ads posted just for fun; sellers would quote ridiculously low prices and would never reply on chat or give their number. Is it an old model (Duke 200 design) or the newer one? I have seen some Duke 200s slapped on with 390 sticker kits. Worst case, it could be a stolen bike.

Anyway, I would say avoid this one.

Hi fellow TeamBHPians,
I have been negotiating to buy a used yellow CBR250R-2018 ABS version bought on Aug 2018. It has 1000km on the odo and the final price being asked by the seller is 1.7 lakh. The bike is claimed to have no issues and the seller selling it as he got another more comfortable bikes.

Is it a good deal?
I am in Bangalore and planning to use the bike for daily city use and occasional highyway touring(once a month)

More than the price, I suggest go check this bike and his other bike. What if you also find that other one to be more comfortable ?

It is the new one. Funny thing is, I see multiple ads (saw at least two) like this, not just one. They look like different bikes. Interesting.

I would say 3 to 3.5 Lakhs would be a fair price.

Apart from the general condition of the bike, the condition of wear and tear items like the brake pads, tyres, battery etc also matter as they are quite expensive to replace at a Harley dealer.

How much should i pay for a 2016 and 2017 CBR650F ? (halogen lamp models), and how much should i pay for 2017/2018 models (LED headlamps).

Also can anyone tell how much CBR1000RR fireblades sell for? 2010-2014 models? I was wondering if they are accessible if i strech my budget to 6.5L
