Also wanted to know if it is easy to get spares for them in Bangalore..where would i have to look for it in Bangalore ? JC Road ? or any specific store..

I will need all your help, if I end up buying one.
Look on olx and reduce 30% to arrive at a price. There are a lot of things you need to look before buying, check for the papers first, make sure they are current. It should be in the name of the seller or else the paper itself would cost you about 15k to bring in order. Check for rust, inside the tank and otherwise. Check if the bright work has been painted, yezdi stuff are little elusive.

Check if it's running smooth, any unwanted sounds can be a sign of upcoming works. Check if the numbers match, engine chassis etc.

The best place for any yezdi spares is gee bee auto spares in commercial st, he is the best I know in the business.

PS this is an incorrect thread, there is a used bike price thread.

Owner quotes around 30000-35000. This is a Yezdi 250 B model. The bike looks OK and running with some minor rusts on few external bolts in initial pictures. I had a talk with owner and he says most of the parts are still original and it looks like he would negotiate on price. I plan to check this bike sometime soon. He indicated that the bike is in another person's name but transfer should not be a problem (I believe he must be his friend or someone he knows)and is Andhra Pradesh Registration. but i plan to use it in Bangalore..will that be any issue ?

Another point which comes to my mind is that I see some of same models in restored conditions on OLX for approx 50-55K. So with this bike will I be able to justify this price after restoration. In general what would be a rough restoration cost for painting..chrome plating..engine work for a running bike ? Can any one help me here.

I am already in the process of restoring a Mahindra MM550 at my own pace(time as well as money)..so I do not want to overload myself with another restoration. If I buy this one, I do not plan to restore it soon..but will for sure start searching for the necessary spares as preparation.

I can guarantee you that the papers will not be in order, ask him if he will transfer the bike in your name and get an NOC, the asking price of 35k is very high, I have seen in restored bikes go for 20 usually, buy cheap and fix it up.

I cannot tell you how much the restoration would cost you but take a ballpark of 30. If I were you, then I would concentrate on one restoration and would not overwhelm myself.

Restored bikes for 20 . I would be intrested if there are any current offers like that. I take your advice, I will ask him to arrange for a NOC and quote a low value..and yeah..one restoration at a time..but it sometime helps when you are finding something for one...you can also look out for other in parallel.

What I actually meant was "Un" Restored, since "I" & "U" are dangerously close to each other in the keyboard this happened .

Best of luck.

Re: The "Used Bike Price Thread"

Now that Pulsar 200AS is out, it looks a like good replacement for the 220, though ideally it's the 400AS I should hold on for. What's the average selling price for a 2007, 37000km run Pulsar 220 FI ?

And while I'm on the subject, does anyone know what sort of prices bigger bikes, like, ahem, Triumph Daytonas and Tiger 800s sell for ?

Doc : Just pondering over things, no definite plan or intent as yet, and keeping an eye on SBK prices in general.

Re: The "Used Bike Price Thread"

I'll be putting my Honda Trigger for sale soon (next month) when it completes 1.5 years and 11K on the ODO. No dents/scratches.

How much can I expect to sell it for? I'm guessing about 55K (given that I paid 76K) Advice much appreciated!

Thanks guys!!

A friend is looking to sell his bike. What price should be expected?
Make: Hero
Model: Karizma R
Year: 2010(December)
Odo: 11,000kms
As you can see, the bike has barely run 11,000 kms in almost 5 years (His house was very close to college). But the bike has been running almost everyday, no dormant stage and got all its timely services at the showroom workshop.
The local used bike dealers are quoting 30k which i think is ridiculos!

In Bangalore, a 11,000kms run Trigger commands around 48-52k at the dealers based on the condition. While the online sites have pretty bloated prices, not sure if you can always get lucky to land a customer willing to pay 68k for the bike. Based on this you can decide a base price for Hyderabad.

The going price for a 5 year old Zma is in the range of 35-38k at the dealers in Bangalore. Online asking prices are in the range of 39-42k. So you can probably look at a price up to 40k for the bike if you have the right bargaining skills with the dealers or if you dont want the dealer hassle, post it up on OLX or Quikr for a slightly higher price and see if you get what you are expecting.

Re: The "Used Bike Price Thread"

Hi Guys,

I have been searching for an RX 135 5 speed for quite sometime and I have identified a RX 135 5 speed with the original gear box and disk brakes. The owner quotes 60 K since he has fully restored it and the FC is also done.

Do you think it is a good price or what would be an ideal price for this one?

I am in the same boat Shyn!

I own a 2009 Karizma R that has run 25K. When I tried seeing it, all I was getting 25 to 27K in Hyderabad.

I am expecting 35K minimum hence holding up. I am not going to sell to dealers but to an individual who is genuinely interested.

35K is least heard figure here for me. It is below 30K.

That is not very good. Also the 35k - 38k depends on various permutations and combinations of negotiation with the month of mfg., kms run, service history etc etc. Like i said unless you have the skill and patience to deal with different tactics used by dealers to swindle you, better to sell to an individual who is really interested in the bike.

Totally out of league here since I am not much aware of the 2 Stroke market prices but at the outset the price seems to be decent given that it has discs up front and also has an FC with it. Lets wait for the RX experts and restores to comment on the price.

How long have you been waiting now to sell the bike? I am sure you must have tried OLX and Quikr. How was the response there? Just curious.

I agre with the bargaining skills part. These dealers low-ball everybody, specially the ones who aren't technicall sound, by throwing in mechanical details. My friend happens to be very ignorant so I am not surprised he couldn't negotiate so well.
To make matters worse, he is in a rush to sell it. Not willing to wait for more than 2 days.
Otherwise a bike that has run just 11k should get atleast 40. The extremely low but regularly used mileage and fully serviced aspect should count for something.
