What is the reason for selling the bike ?

Did you check for service history ?

Was the bike involved in any accidents ?

I am not from Mumbai , but i guess chances of corrosion in coastal areas is much higher . Any signs of corrosion ?

The seller is has indicated Rs. 55,000 negotiable.
He is selling the bike because he is going onsite. Actually I work with a software company, so at any point of time we have people being transferred to other locations & they have to sell their stuff here.

The bike is indeed in good condition.

its a low run bike , still two years old . IMHO its a good buy .

Try to negotiate between 45k to 47k.

If you are able to make the same amount as down payment , you can own a brand new one . 55 k is on the higher side.

Thank you for confirming. Even I was thinking of price around Rs. 45,000. I am going to see the bike today afternoon & will post the exact condirtion then.

Also, I never believe in taking loans for Cars / Bike, as I am salaried & get no benefit on these Loans. Also I feel Rs. 80,000 for a new Bike is way too high. I would rather install CNG Kit in my Car & the running cost will be less than Pulsar 180.

Anyways thanks for advice & will post the exact situation soon.

I finally saw the bike yesteday & also took a test ride.

The details are as follows:

Model: Sep 2010 Bajaj Pulsar 180
ODO Reading: 7900 kms
Overall condition: Good. All electricals are working. (There are some scratchs on left side leg guard & headlight as the bike skid in rains).
Price: Rs. 45,000 (Insurance has expired on 18 Ooct 2012 so I need to renew the same).

What do you say friends? Shall I go for the bike?

What do Pular 180 Ownes say - Shall I expect mileage of 40 in city?

Go for it , you expect around 40kmpl in the city.

You can bargain more since the insurance is expired .

What about the side scratches ? is it due to an acciddent ?

Hello Friends,

I finally bought Aug 2010 Bajaj Pulsar 180, Red Wine color with 8046 kms on ODO for Rs. 44,000.

The bike is in good condition with some scratches on left side (as the previous owner skid during rains once).

I have now arranged for Third Party Insurance in previous owner's name, as it will take couple of weeks to transfer the bike to my name.

The ride quality definitely seems better than my ealier Pulsar 150 & will post a detailed ownership thread soon.

Congrtas on your purchase, you have got it for a good price. I own a P180 UG-4.5(as the company calls it). Its 3.5 months,4700kms old. I am pretty satisfied and feel you will be happy with it. I recently did a 1600km round trip and the bike performed flawlessly.

Regarding the FE, I get around 42-45 kmpl in the city depending on the riding style. Go easy on the throttle and try to stay within 5k RPM and you will get 45+ kmpl. For more details you can check my ownership thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...ip-report.html

I have a Pulsar 180 black color. It was bought when Pulsar was introduced. I'm the first owner. The odometer reads 47,000 kms. Its very well maintained and only serviced by Khivraj Motors. Its a TN vehicle.

Now after all these years I want to sell it. But don't have any idea how much will be the value of the vehicle. So if you guys can help me with the approximate price for a bike of this vintage, I'll be very thankful.
