Since its maintained well, you should be able to glean 23k from an individual buyer. Go to the brokers and the prices will fall astronomically!!

35-38k from a broker tops. If an individual buyer and if the bike is maintained well, then you can get 40-43k

Well its not the pulsar's but the performance bikes as tagged by the dealers. Anything above 100 cc is tagged as performance bikes. P150 enjoys better resale but P180 suffers due to the less mileage tag behind it.

Again, those are guesstimates and you might land up with a few thousands more if you get a genuine buyer. But the dealers are only bound to quote below 40k

Aesthetically restored Yezdi Roadkings are going for as much as 35-40k in Bangalore. The not so well maintained one's can be had from about 7-8k till about 16k.

Re: The "Used Bike Price Thread"

^^ Thanks Fiat Tarun. I will try listing it on sulekha. Can you share the price you got? that will enable me to put the price accordingly.

Thanks Technocrat! I'll keep that in mind, although I am not too sure I want the TBTS now. Its a little big for my frame and I would be delighted if I got an RX-100 instead. But finding one (in good condition with proper papers) is turning out to be a nightmare.

Re: The "Used Bike Price Thread"

I Purchased a Pulsar 220DTSi - S (small fairing version) on 2nd Apr 2011, specs are :

May 2010 model
TN22 Regn (Kancheepuram)
12700Kms on ODO
Insurance ending May 2011
Single Owner
Minor Scratches on both side of crash bars (minor falls, no major crashes)
Full service history
No leaks, squeaks, tweaks
All OE parts incl battery, tyres (will need replacement soon)
No rat-a-rat engine noises, chain sprocket Ok for now
Head light reflector blackened from inside, needs cleaning OR replacement
No finance, full cash purchase by 1st owner

Negotiation started from 62,000INR and ended up in 58K INR. I just couldn't find a better 220 (less than a year old) with hardly 13K Kms 1st owner for 58K, so jumped on the offer... Planning to replace nearly ALL consumable/wear and tear part and bring it to nearly new Condition...

Oh, reason for price was seller was Final year student, needed a sale ASAP to avoid taking the bike 3000Kms to a china border state

Good deal you got the P220 for. The price in Blore for the P220-S new is 86k. Even if you refurbish it with the wear and tear parts, it will be lesser than the new one by at least 10k! So you have struck a really wow! deal.

How much should i pay for a used R15 (2008 model, 15000 kms done) in mumbai? The owner is quoting 72k for this. The rear tyre needs to be changed as its almost bald. The bike is Andheri registered.

Bike seems to be in good condition. All the electricals work. Acceleration and braking is on par. Engine doesn't have any unusual sound while running. There's no black smoke either. What else do i need to check guys? Please suggest.

2008 model R15's have an asking price of 72-75k in Blore. So you should get it for a few thousands less in Mumbai. I am not sure of the On-Road price difference b/w Blore and Mumbai but I guess its lesser as Blore has the highest price for automobiles.

Since you also have to change the rear tire, you can bargain for a better price. How long is the insurance valid for and hope its comprehensive one.

Get the bike checked thoroughly at a SVC for accidents or major spills.
Bikes with 3rd party insurance are always a suspect at least when I am hunting for used bikes. Comp insurance for bikes does not cost much more than 3rd party and it can be done even if the previous insurance has expired.

66k is a pretty decent price but I would not close the deal unless certified by Yamaha SVC that the bike is not an accident one. That's just me!
