This is my RD350 “Riceburner”
I bought the RD to get me through a year when my trusty old 1977 Kawasaki was broken down and waiting for a new oil pump. I was going to sell off the RD, but went this route instead.
The work was mostly done around 1990, but I did a lot of lightening later on [fiberglass and aluminum replacements].
The rear wheel is stock, the whole front end if from a Honda XR650
Tank was made by hand out of 12 gauge steel, and weighed 5Kg empty! Now it has a fiberglass copy. The exhaust is hand made to my [exacting] specs, expansion chambers come in early, in the upper midrange. You can feel and hear it when they do. Handmade aluminum cans do a decent job, and it’s the best sounding 2-stroke I’ve ever heard. The neighbors don’t always agree, so I keep it slow through the village. The heat guards work well, and despite how it looks, I haven’t burned myself on the pipes.

Rear shocks are Koni for an XT550 Yamaha.
Seat is one-off. Tail light for a very old Enfield, headlight H4 halogen with relay, K+N type air filters.
Rear mudguard is a fiberglass replica of the original, front is from an old friend, “Anand”, who was modifying and racing Enfields in Pune back in the 80’s.

The bike goes like stink, and smells that way too! It can climb stairs [which is a blast], cruise over deep soft sand, climb rocky hillsides, and blast across dry rice fields, hopping over the divisions.
I’ve had a hell of a lot of fun with it!
I’ll sell it now, since I’m not spending time in India anymore. But I wish I could just blast around on it again instead.

Modified Indian bikes - Post your pics here and ONLY here

I would like to see some examples of modified bikes here in India and thought a thread would be timely. Last year I saw in Calcutta a very nice Bullet made up to look like a Harley, but didn't my camera.

Here is a unique Mini Chopper running a 175 CC engine that I saw near New York City yesterday. Very well designed and built.

That RD is a killer machine. Congrats dude.

But the red chopper feels outta place for me. It looks like a semi crossover from a old skool chopper to a trendy one. moreover it does not look properly finished. I'm sorry if I've hurt someone saying what i said above.

It's not a chopper [they look weird and handle terribly] ; it's an Enduro for off road riding.
You're right, I never did really "tart it up"; I built it primarily for riding.

It will kill most anything, well, anything I ever met, on the road in south India. And then I just blow everyone's minds by driving right off the side, and down into the fields! and it gets incredible "air" when I jump speed bumps with it.

Gentlemen - I just received an emailer from Royal Enfield announcing the Custom Bike competition at Rider Mania in Goa next month. All the amazing Bullets in this thread should definitely participate.

The Rider Mania website has more information.
