just being curious, what does 1 & 3 places of your engine or frame no: read? should be like 9_F_ _ _ or 9_H_ _ _ etc., these indicate manufacturing year/month.

Yeah, even I would like to know the month and year of manufacture. I just spoke to a dealer at Bangalore who said that the 4S is supplied only to Northern India as the demand is more. So, Mag please look at your frame and engine and tell us the serial number.

Cheers,

Jay

Very simple

1. First digit 9 is for 2009
2. Alhpabet F, being the 6th one stands for 6th month of the year i.e June

The RE Electra 4Speed is easily available at all the authorised dealerships.
I wasn't aware of this , it isnt (wasn't) available in Pune and neither on the website.

Nice number by the way , any more 9's you have up your sleeve?

@shivshanker :
But this is only for RE , how about pulsars or other vehicles?

Engine No. - B3K4C09_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Frame No. - ME3B3K4C09_ _ _ _ _ _ _

It can't be read by the method posted above.

Haha, i make sure that my cars numbers add upto 9.
But as it was my first bike as i turned major, i made sure to have this number, as when i was minor no one listened to me.
My family dont have a fancy for these things and think its a waste of money.

Seems a new numbering scheme is here. Well, there are other options though not as specific. Check the swing arm mount plates for month-year stamping. You see nos on crankcase top behind cylinder (atop oil sump) for eg 08E_ _ _ _ in old way. Also on gearbox top (RH). & better not post full nos on an open forum.

just open the manual & the readin scheme is mentioned in it. YOu can just match your chasis & engine no.'s with that. I will try & scan & paste it here.

The reading scheme is not mentioned in the owner's manual.

Out of the whole manual, only page 9 shows where are the

1.) Frame Number
2.) Engine Number

The pictures showing the above are also there.
That's it. Nothing More.

I'm searching for the reading scheme.

I'll recheck the whole manual once again.

Nice Bull you have there. I see that the neutral finder is still there. I have seen that they have done away with the neutral finder on some of the new models of bullets.

Thanks a lot, but nowhere close to your rides sir.

All the new models now come with the Left Side 5 speed gear shifter.

The traditional gearbox was one of the few reasons to buy this model.
