Can anyone suggest why the bike is having a starting problem considering that the spark plug is new? What should I do to have this problem rectified?

The previous mechanic has used Castrol TT oil in the oil can. It’s almost gone empty now. Is it recommended to go with the same oil or should I try something which is better. I am planning to stop using the oil can and instead have oil mixed with petrol. Is it OK for me to do this? Does that have any effect on the engine considering the engine has been recently rebored?

Please provide me with your valuable suggestions.

The trick i have devised after living with my yamaha for more than a decade now in cold starting a RX with out any trouble.
Keep the engine off
Turn the petrol knob on
Hold the choke
Kick 4 times
Turn the key on
Kick and the engine start with one single kick every single day.

Try getting the oil pump working. It is any day better than self mixing. The ratio of mix is ideal when its via the oil can and less smoke. But on long journey and high revs use extra 10ml/litre

^ I would like to share my thoughts when it comes to my RX.

1. Pump the clutch 3-4 times
2. Turn on the fuel tap
3. Couple of kicks
4. Turn on the ignition
5. One kick should bring the roar.

I follow the above and had no issues with the cold start.

Strongly agreed when the carb is a stock one; it SHOULD get started in first kick. I get it started usually on the second kick & mine is TM28.

Hey Visaster, Its been more than a year I posted this query. My bike is in perfect condition now. *touch wood*. I dont even have to apply choke to start in the mornings and it starts in a single kick even after parking the bike for a week.

Thanks to all the previous inputs from BHPians and specially Prajeep. I have a found a perfect mechanic for my bike as well. So all fine now. *Touching wood again*

Its been long time that I have taken pictures of the bike. There has been a couple of cosmetic changes done after the last snap I posted here. I will try to take some fresh pictures and update here.

Thank you all.
