Cant make out whether its a twin from the pics though.
Nice scoop.
That is a nice scoop five46. But the colors are not going well. It looks like a cheap mod job. Will have to wait till we see it in flesh. And about the 250, people have become fathers and grandfathers talking about a 250cc come up in India from Yam or a BAL or HH.
It will be excellent if Yamaha gets a 250cc bike in India.
Let's see who gets the 250CC bike here first - Yamaha or Bajaj. Bajaj is such a lazy bone! I have been reading previews of the Ninja 250 for so long.
Looks like Yamaha will go ahead and get the 250CC earlier than Bajaj. Cant wait for it though! (drool) - I'd love 25+ bhp twin cylider at 1.5L - 2L OTR
But, the drum brakes in the rear wheel are such a sore to the eye for a 250 cc bike - I hope it is just a test mule, and the real one doesn't have it.
Some one get us a seriously fast 250 cc bike @ < 2L OTR please:
Hummm The imnages looks promising. Some how on close opservation.. the engine block looks too small for a 250 CC.
I would love to see a 250cc from Yamaha in India.Already FZ 16 and R 15 have been successful in India and bagge many awards.
I love Yamaha in the end.
They are retaining the same old 153cc engine for this new variant. its seen clearly in the pics. This is just a cosmetic upgrade albeit a very very good one!

I would think so as well. Would be a huge leap to go from 150 to 250 without them exploiting the 160, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210, 220, 230 and 240 cc categories followed by sticker jobs for 160, 170.... Well you get the idea :)

Very good observation! agree: It does look like the same 153cc engine. From the way it looks Yamaha is going to play the Gladiator card all over again.. Type SS/RS
Fz16 type Sports/Street? :uncontrol
Yeah, this is true even my friend who is working with Yamaha also confirmed that. Right now they are testing around 50units. Engine is same as FZ just a twin light fairing with center pilot lamp(like the R6 but not confirm)

Or may be it isn't a quarter litre bike at all? :Frustrati
@Techno Sir,
It's not me who has clicked and uploaded the pics, I've mentioned the source. I could have uploaded pics to team-bhp's server (more so when that stupid imageshack gives trillions of pop-ups), but thought would be wrong to do so lifting somebodys pictures.
Will adhere to the needful henceforth. :)
Looks like the 'Xenophya Design' , Bike designed for Indian client, it was for a 250cc bike, Not sure which company. But from the looks of it, a Yamaha 250cc single.
The bike makers are on a roll. The TATA NANO their biggest worry, flopped:Frustrati. It could garner only 2 lakh bookings. Two wheelers have posted double digit growth in recessionay times.
Its a good time to be on two wheels. The bike looks produciton ready and may hit the showrooms pretty soon
Look at the way the quarter fairing is integrated between the tank shroud and fake leg guards. Gives the bike a SUZUKI BANDIT kinda look

This is not a xenophya design nor is it a Yamaha 250. This design addition is just like its bigger brothers the FZ1 and FZ1 Fazer. However it is unlikely Yamaha would use the Fazer name here after that disastrous bike that was launched a few years ago. Here are the FZ1 Series -
And yes this a very smart move from Yamaha. If you notice, that chinese-toy like speedo goes very well with the new fairing. But yeah, i wish they plonk a good 200 or 250cc engine in that bike. Would be killer.
