Relax. You didn't check all of them in the list. In fact, they've come out with new 2T oils which I was expecting. The full synthetic is FD rated.

It'll take a while before I use this as I had just topped up with 510 a few days back.

Raccoon - Did you say the good old Jetx 2T oil? Pls let me know if they're still available. I'm unable to find that in Chennai. The authorized distributor says Castrol has stopped suplying it; sent an email to Castrol 2 weeks back & still (hoping) waiting for a reply.

You're never going to get a reply from Castrol. They are hopeless.

If you're coming down to Bombay I can get that oil for you. There's one shop here that still has around 2 cartons of 500 ml.

Yes, it looks like it. The co. doesn't bother to supply or answer about it. They still show in on the website though.

Thanks & I agree with you. I just called up few dealers in Chennai
Dealer 1 - first said he can order only in cartons that comes in 20L; I said fine I'll buy them & asked the price, then says Castrol stopped making them
Dealer 2 - said he'll check with Castrol & let me know tomorrow
Dealer 3 & 4 - Never picked up the phone

Don't even bother will Castrol. I wouldn't use any of their oils. I think they are rip offs. There are many other brands around.

What would be the reason for excess smoke? Even if the oil pump is working, bike is serviced a day back and no oil is being added to the petrol tank. Mech said the smoke level will decrease in a few days, which I find unlikely because before the service also it was the same.

^^^I can think of 2 reasons
1. There's an excess oil that the pump is sending to the carbs
2. The oil pump is normal, but due to the exhaust being cleaned up, it takes sometime again for the carbon to settle in & block the exhaust to allow less fumes out

Again, few days is fine, but how many Kms have you clocked after servicing? The ideal mixture would be is an ounce or slightly less to a litre of Petrol.

Anyway, I stopped trusting the oil pumps long back & I mix the 2T oil in the tank. BTW - would be glad to know about the motorcycle that we are talking about.

You need to make sure the oil pump is calibrated. These local mech's don't usually know how to do it.

There's a chance that he may have manually fed the engine with oil in which case it does smoke a lot but it doesn't take days for that to come to normal. A few kms of riding is all it takes.

There's a chance that the plug may get fouled so get it rectified asap. Is this your bike or your friends bike you're talking about? I'd like to check this bike out personally.

Good to see that you believe in BPCL (me too). But try Servo supreme 2T from IOCL. As MAK 2T is thicker Servo supreme is lighter than MAK and carbon deposit will be less.
