Guyes i am a cruiser freak...cant stand sport bikes...and i feel sad abt the fact that there are hardly any new cruisers hitting the indian roads. Currently i have an avenger but we all know that it lacs the cruiser power and charm.I think that Hyosung Aquila is the best cruiser running on Indian road (only 300 of those).I did not have enough money when it was launched and now that i have money its not available for sale...haha
Does anyone have an info about any cruiser bike launching in India in near furure ?
Abhishek
How about Suzuki Intruder? Is that a Cruiser?
I dont have any bike at the moment. But I badly want one!
But Intruder is 1800cc and 12 Lakhs INR. I cant afford that.
I dream to have a Cruiser that is around 500cc and costs not more than 3 lakhs. Unfortunately there is no such product in India. I wish Bajaj launches some special edition of Avenger with triple power!
And I am not sure whehter I can custom build one!!! may be using a Yamaha RD350 engine, or a Bullet 500cc Engine.
Sadly I am no expert in this as well. Need to learn a lot first of all if I plan to custom make.
It would be great if some one can help

It costs 13.74L in Bombay on road.
I saw the Harley Davidson news in many blogs and sites. But India is not listed anywhere in their official website.
But like Suzuki Hayabusa, even these ones will be way expensive due to duties.
Harley's are better for good road conditions that you actually don't find in many parts of india. For one, they provide a mileage/FE of around 100 miles for 17lts(which is the tank capacity). Hence, remember mileage wouldnt be ideal for one.
The driving experience is good although i wouldn't personally classify the HD to be a cruiser. If you want a real cruiser experience, the Indian/American Horse and the Orange County custom choppers are the best in the segment.
I have personally all of the above brands and did feel each have their own particular style, although i would give an extra nod to the Orange County anyday!
Cheers. Hope this helps.
Do consider importing something thats worth the money, i wouldnt certainly recommend HD for one, as its Indian Price would match the import costs.
If you can wait a little longer, Royal Enfield has plans to launch a cruiser style touring morotocycle based on the Thunderbird platform, with a 500 cc engine. IMO that should be a very good bike for Indian road conditions where speeds of 100 kph are just about right for safe cruising on the highways.
500 CC cruiser from RE..Never heard about it surprisingly. If they were to launch it it, it would have been their in Auto expo..but it wasn't..Cafe racer should be next in the line for launch followed by classic 500 - army edition (If govt permits).
I would love to have a cruiser priced below 5 lac and with 400-600 cc engine..(example Honda shadow or magnum) But it seems in India we can either have bikes below 250 cc or above 800 cc.
HD Sportster is definetely catching my attention but on road price of about 8 lac is quite on a higher sode for me..I am in south korea now and believe me HD sportster 883L is costing around 5 lac here.. but cant think about importing it to india coz of import duty structure

Varun,
I don't know if you have any problem with HD or not (while respecting them for what they are I don't like the images associated with it - Skinheads etc) but you should know that HD is now officially available in India.
Please check out the following thread

Reportedly, they do not service direct pesonally imported bikes but all the same they are there and things can be done
With the way things are developing in India I am sure that there is a Fuel Station within every 100 KM or so in most of the major roads in India.

Lee,
How authentic is this info. has triumph gone in to any JV in India or are they doing a dealership network etc?
As the owner of a 2009 Bonneville (planning to ship to India in naer future) if true this info is music to my ears.
