I have come accross a Blue 2001 KAWASAKI ELIMINATOR. The guy is expecting 35k for it.
My main concern is availability of parts and maintainability of the bike.
Is it a good idea to go for this bike?
parts are still avaialble, i got almost all the stuff for my cousin's eliminator from pune but are bit expensive..
rest bike is very relaible!!
I had a Kawasaki Eliminator, 2001 model, Just done 12K kms. Sold it last year for 33K.
I don't think parts are an issue. Try reducing the price a bit.
Close your eyes and go for it, its way better than the current lot i am saying this coz the older lots came with kick start which is major advantage according to me.
P.S : These are only my views as i prefer a kick starter for a bike always.
@prajeep: Avenger 180 still sports the kick starter its only the A200 which doesnt & eliminator had 175cc Kawasaki engine
price is slightly high. bargain a bit.
btw was there a blue in the eliminator? when i bought mine had the option of only black and red.

yes, the blue was an option. My friend had a blue and I got a black
Befire u buy this, pls make sure that parts are available, I know of many bajaj models which nobody wants now as parts are unavailable. Also the price quoted is a lil too much.

I don't think the eliminator came in blue. It had a shade of violet though.

yes, that's what I meant as blue/bluish. It was not the same blue you see these days..
The Kawasaki engine is much smoother than the Avenger engine and it's known to last long without any loss in performance if routine maintenance work is done as per schedule. Unlike the Avenger motor the Eli engine feels a bit more torquier as a cruiser motor should. There are subtle changes in the bike's frame between Eli and Avenger.
I don't think you'll have any shortage of parts in Pune. You can go and knock on Bajaj's door if you have any trouble with maintenance or parts.
30k is a fair price for this model. Bargain as it's an out of production model.
Bring the price around 30K. The bike is good. Rode it once to Anand ( 36 km journey mainly on highway ). The motor is good. In Pune atleast partrs wont be an issue.
Thanks for replies all. I am waiting to have a look at the bike. I will take a call based on the present condition.

i dont think 35k is a reasonable price.you can get an avenger if you add a couple thousands in it.avenger has better mileage and better performance being a dtsi engine. and from what i have heard eliminator had its engine issues. or else why do you think bajaj discontinued it and brought the avenger on the same design base
Go for it mate. I have one in red, its a beautiful bike. End of the day, its a foreign bike. Its got KAWASAKI screaming all across the tank!
Its awesome, especially when you see made in japan written all over bolts even. Its an all aluminium engine to boot. Body parts are not a problem at all since its clone is the AVENGER. It the real McCoy, go for it.
I'm getting offers for 40 grand for my bike by the way
here in nagpur eliminators sell for 30k maximum.people dont want to buy models which are not in production anymore.rx has the same story. that is why these bikes have less resale value here.i think you are lucky to be getting 40k for your eliminator my friend
